its known as flooding... its what happens when lots of water tries to go where no so much water is supposed to.

I can see the levee from my house and the river is about 500 yards from me... We are finally below flood stage in Greenville but all those basturds up north keep leaving their water hoses on so it all comes past me to get to the gulf! If you look at a map Greenville MS is right where LA, AR, & MS meet and right on the river I've had my boat in my driveway since spring |

I live north west of St. Louis in Lincoln county. What we have is nothing like the folks up north but I look out my back door every morning to make sure river is where it should be. I live 300 ft from the Cuvier River it feeds into the Mississippi, its already back feeding the Cuvier to the east and in '93 my place was under water. Soon as it looks like it coming towards me I'm packing the house up. Some levies couple miles away from me broke yesterday morning that the core of engineers didn't think would, sucks for the people next to them, helps the people down river. |
