Default DNA R/C's new "Crawling Gear" artwork...

Well after 2 weeks of photo shop work Aaron at finishlinegd.com has finally given me a taste of the final 3d rendering so I thought I'd share. Keep in mind, he created the old VF "Flying Gear" and while I felt the need to retire it in the process of shutting down VF and moving forward with DNA R/C Products, I still loved the mechanical concept behind what he had come up with. Of course, following the Flying Gear was no small task, in my eyes anyway. When he asked for some direction all I could give him was "it has to top the flying gear as far as being "out there". I also specified the look needed to pop, represent a limitless imagination, and be different from anything else out there...how tough can that be right? Come up with a new image to brand a product with, have it be extremely innovative looking, and do it with no real design input whatsoever?!?! Well, he managed to send me the initial sketch within hours and then he began tweaking for 2 weeks or so till he was satisfied. Fact is I like it regardless of what anyone else might say as the "look" is not only way out there, it also doesn't tie me to one particular type of product for the future.

From what he tells me the vector version (still a few days away) is going to be pretty insane as well!

Try not to bash too hard...those of you who are/were loyal to the flying gear! Comments are of course always welcome.

Don

Well, if the "simple rendering" looks like this...can't wait to see the finished product I personally know how much work Photoshop can be from a clean slate.

um, isnt that more of a "crawling sawblade" than a gear?

Picky picky...that is one of the things that will modified in the final version as I was already thinking the same thing.

I think its amazing work...

My only comment is the blur effect at the bottom just looks undone rather than a planned blur.
