lol, I work for a comnpany sub contracted to make ziploc plastic bowls and lids. due to gmp policies, its almost better for use to use gladware bowls. If we (employees) were to get caught using a ziploc container for our lunch durning a gmp audit, we could lose our contract with ziploc. we are not even allowed to drink out of any cups we produce and buy cups from our direct competiton in the cup market to drink from. it works both ways. we are encouraged to buy the competition to keep our business. i realize it's probably not a honda policy, and it probably goes both ways.. if you work at a harley dealer and show up on somehting else, you might get the same treatment.. but it still sucks on second thought it's too bad i didn't live near there, then i could have made that pont that i would have bought the bike there but now won't. hope the guy gets another job, although i'd think that professional mechanics are in demand jack: that's really weird... btw what's gmp? parent company? bdr |

GMP= Good Manufactuing Policy. Its something all food grade manufacturing companies have to follow if they want to stay open. it has basic rules like hair nets and beard nets, but also covers things like not using the products you produce for anything inside the operation. Say I take a drink cup of the production line and get a drink. After Im done, I dont throw it away and it somehow ends up back on the packaging end of the line and goes out the door to the customer. Now we have an unsanitary package and if that was found , whether it caused a problem or not, we could have major business pull their contracts for not being GMP compliant. This is why the company would like us to buy the competitions contains when it comes to bringing them in your lunch. If a GMP auditor is having a bad day or is a dink, a ziploc container in a lunch or out in the break room can cause a boat load of problems. and its not just bowls and cups. Its ANYTHING we produce.
