XDM... I currently shoot a 40 in both compact and subcompact. I have not heard anything about this. I need to look at it real quick!!!!

I prefer 1911's and revolvers myself. I never did really care for glock style guns, think its the trigger safety. Nice looking gun though.

johnathanlopez 08-02-2008 12:37 PM

ill post pics of my xdm and post a little report after i shoot it on monday. the xds have an very nice and easy trigger safety, plus the thumb safety like your 1911's.

yeah deere deffinately check out the xdm, there are quite a few revisions on it, and ive heard nothing but improvements over the xd's. i find that crazy because the xd's were perfect as they were! aslong as the xdm is as rugged ill be happy! my guns go through lots of abuse, water, mud, and dirt.... 1911's just cant hang but these xd's sure can!! :)

but i also shoot a mill spec springfield .45 thats a 1911 and i love it also!!!!

Springfield ftw!

why did you hate it? i like every one of my xd's... what was wrong with it?

lizard017 08-02-2008 01:50 PM

ggrant it, it was a nice peice, but i like a pistol to shoot good at any rage out to 40 yards, past 25 i felt it wasnt as accurate as it shouldve been, when i was 17 i had a p89 ruger 9mm and i couls hit the green pole on a county road sign at 45 yards, so ruger is close to the top in my book, i had it till i traded it for my sig, for like 7 or 8 years it never jammed one time

johnathanlopez 08-02-2008 05:28 PM

hurm... crazy. i do lots of distance shooting with my 45. im suprised that .357 sig wasnt accurate seeing as the ballistics of the .357 sig are amazing! ill see how this xdm does though... this will be my first .40

I personally am a huge fan of the 1911 style pistols myself. I own about 6 kimber pistols and a slue of highly modified colt 1911 style pistols also. And they are all chambered for the 45ACP expect for my race guns that are 38super to cut back on recoil.
The 45 has to be the best all around hand gun there is"thumbsup"

I don,t play with weapons. But a glock is the only way to go

I still have the limited though, .40sw Infinity and a few extra frames, one of these days i'll build another Open gun...

I checked out the Springfields. I don't like the grip safety or the goofy trigger safety.

You should try firing the .357SIG round the way it was meant to be fired.

Through a Sig.

If the first part of your post is true, that's where you post should've stopped.

What's wrong with Glocks?

The Glock pistol is one of the best pistol designs of all time. It's so good in fact, that Springfield made a pistol that is so close to the Glocks, they needed to wait until the Glock's patten expired to produce it. What are those pistols called, oh yeah, XD. The 1911 design is probably the only better design.

Glocks aren't for everyone, but they are still one of the best pistols ever designed.

Get a real gun. Hammerless with a decock.

The Springfields are great guns. They just don't fit or work that well for me, personally. I prefer the Steyers in .40 for my "plastic" carry guns. I also have a Glock 21 that works well for me in .45. My all time favorite shooters for run and gun and range use is my CZ97B's which are 45s. They're all steel. I have several of them, 2 modified for single action. The just fit me perfectly, shoot perfectly and run like swiss watches :)

benttoy's comment didn't seem to be based on experience.

But, based on my own personal experience, a Glock is too light and doesn't feel right. A plastic pistol with a metal barrel? Throws the balance off. You can have it.

I looked and looked at Glocks as well as the Springfields. Between the two I was considering a Glock (didn't like the grip and trigger safety on the XDs).

When I got to Florida and talked to my brother-in-law, he gave me his P229 so I didn't end up with a Glock.

Shooting is my 2nd hobby. I love my XD 40. The XDMs are super nice. I'm looking forward to hear your report after you take it shooting. My next gun purchase is going to be a Benelli Supernova 12 gauge with the pistol grip.

Here's a pic of my XD, saturday night special, and my buddy is putting down his Ruger 9mm.

They are a well made gun. Beyond that, they just don't make sense to me!! The AS model has 3 different trigger modes, with 3 different trigger pulls  Other than a novelty range gun, I would have no use for that what so ever. I understand the need for a decocker but.............THAT decocker requires two hands to operate. I've NEVER seen one used in competition so I'm pretty sure many other shooters feel the same way.

The QA version of the gun is even more ODD to me. I'm not even sure how that one works and I really don't care to remember :ror:

These are just my thoughts and opinions are like............... :)

I'm trying to work out a deal with one of my customers for Sphynx 3000 .40 in titanium. It's not going to be cheap but they are one hell of a gun. The best part is they are CZ based and fit my hand perfectly :D
