Mike Smith Leaves Suffocation - Heavy Blog Is Heavy

There are not many things related to the Suffocation brand I can honestly say brings me sadness. Except, the lack of pride that exists within those who have the “right” to claim the name as their own.

This battle has been one that to any focused being, should make obvious sense but has evaded some for 2 decades. Within any foundation the weakest link will always cause all structure to crumble.

The one fact that keeps me at peace is the fact that anyone who has ever seen or spoken to me regarding Suffocation and the industry as a whole, has always left with an understanding of the level of focus and pride that I personally hold for myself, the brand that is Suffocation and the genre We influence and helped create.

As I’ve always said, if you are willing to put your time and soul towards anything, be willing to speak truths, fight and bleed for it if need be.

Anyone ever listen to Shining (sweden)? They have become my favorite band as of late. Most deem them Black Metal, but they really are un-classifiable. Here is a song that that really shows what they are like.

so , like any of you guys listen to poison ???? They rock !!!!! I love the music (death metal) Not really found of a lot of the devil stuff , that many of these bands lend them selves to. I could not stand the gutheral singing for a long time , but all the bands doing remakes of like maiden , and other older bands , I loved how the music was so much heavier !!!! still to this day cannot stand king diamond .

Yeah.....he plays mostly in black metal bands, but he's been working with Imprecation lately and is pretty proud of this new stuff. I'm not sure when the album will be ready...

My old band has played quite a few shows with them. They always pull a nice crowd. Much better live than recorded IMO
