| Pajero, Montero, Shogun, and something I didn't know
From cars-directory.net... "The Mitsubishi Pajero, known as the Mitsubishi Montero in North America and Spanish-speaking countries, and as Mitsubishi Shogun in the United Kingdom, is an SUV built by the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. The name Montero was used because Pajero is slang for masturbator in Spanish." |

GM ran into the same thing with the Buick LaCrosse somewhere in the French part of Canada a few years ago, it sounded a little too much like a slang word used for masturbation or masturbator. Seem to remember reading somewhere that in some middle eastern countries Toyota had to put a stylized S on the Supra's sold there because the name Supra was a lot like a slang word for a certain male organ............seems like it would be appropriate for a car like that, huh |
