Default Maine Crawl/Trail Fun Run

Well not much goes on here in Maine for events.

Thinking of trying to get a bunch of us together sometime this upcoming spring/summer for a Crawl/Trail Run here in Maine.

I tried to run a bash a few years ago but had no interest due to the fact the forums I was posting in members are so far away from Maine.

I see theres some members here in Maine on this forum and decided I'd try this again.

Theres a great Park Smalls Falls located on the way to Rangely
http://www.newenglandwaterfalls.com/...e=Smalls+Falls
Great walking trails with plenty of roots, rocks and other natural terrain to concur.
Not only that but rest rooms, BBQ pits, swimming hole and all nature has to offer.

Lets see if we can get some interest and get a date set for us Mainaha's and anyone else that wants to make the trip.

Due to it being a State run and owned park I think we should only be running Electrics.

So if this sounds like a good time post you're interest and lets get this thing going on

P.S. Mods if you think there is a better place for this please move it.
But please don't let it get lost in the regional forums because I would like to get people from other states as well if they are interested.

Its really too bad Maine is such a spread out state with so little intreast in RC, but if we can all get together for one day or weekend it would be awsome.
I'd even let anyone that wanted to to camp out do so on my front lawn for the weekend if they wanted.

Heres a map from Quebec Canada, to Madrid Maine Where Smalls Falls is located.

http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&lat=45....madrid%20maine

Heres a link to pics but they mostly show the falls and not the trails, there is a pic of the root stairway on first page though.
Theres tons of great terrain there though.

I used to have a bunch of pictures on my computer before the crash lol

A date is not set in stone, I will be trying to make it so it works out for as many as possable.
I'm thinking it should be a whole weekend thing, would hate for people to travel any distance for just a 1 day thing.

As I said before my front lawn will be wide open to all that want to camp out.

DATE SET

Well not much goes on here in Maine for events.

Thinking of trying to get a bunch of us together June 27/28 for the first annual ''Smalls Falls Crawl/Trail Fun Run'' here in Maine.

Theres a great Park, called, Smalls Falls located on RT4 in Madrid, on the way to Rangely Maine.
http://www.newenglandwaterfalls.com/...e=Smalls+Falls
Great walking trails with plenty of roots, rocks and other natural terrain to concur.
Not only that but rest rooms, BBQ pits, swimming holes and all nature has to offer.

Lets see if we can get some interest and get us Mainaha's and anyone else that wants to make the trip together for some fun.

Charging will be done from our car/truck batteries so be aware there is no A/C access.

Due to it being a State run and owned park there will only be Electrics running.
Don't want to be shut down by local authorities for noise.

So if this sounds like a good time you're welcome to come, and its free.
Lets get this thing going on.
