| Im on a real motivating conf call
First thing they tell us... "we will be having rif's of 10% every quarter until we are profitable" WTF, conf call last quarter they said we were the only profitable telecom company. They went on to tell us we need to stay motivated and provide and do "what it takes" |

They could just say, "We are sorry but today will be your last day". That's what many people are hearing.

this will be the 15th round of layoffs I have been thru (no Im not exagerating). While every other company was prospering we have been laying off, this has been going on for years its just finally catching on with other companies... Im just sick of it, its a self fulfilling prophecy. You say the economy is bad, so you layoff people, so the economy becomes bad, so you layoff people, so the economy gets worse.

| Yea the telecom industry is the craps right now... I have been in telecom since '97 and have been on many of those calls. I sure hope you don't work for ATT. I heard that they were gonna lay off a bunch of people in the Illinois area. Good luck with that.

VZ I heard about ATT, they are basically getting rid of all the old Ameritech people. I just wish they would cut the middle management that doesnt do crap. We have managers and then "group" managers. The "group" managers used to be SR managers but when VZ bought MCI they dont recognize the SR level so they made them "group" Dont worry, the savior is in office now and everything will be better | |
