Sarcasm my good sir. It is a forte of mine. I also happen to teach English to "yungins" like yourself.

Spelling and grammar are a lost art, suffering because of the speed and the lack of accountability experienced on the Internet. We spell-check rarely, and only because there is a program to do it. We spell poorly and carelessly because we are lazy and think that it makes us look "cool" when all it does is to speak to our degenerating intelligences. But I digress...

yea i knew it was just sarcasm. and i agree with you. if im typing something important i will revise it and spell check it but thats because your speaking formally. on the boards i dont really check it over or revise cause you can speak more informally.

Couldn't agree more! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one disgusted with all the bad spelling, grammar, and lack of punctuation.

Everytime I see a i, U, UR, NE1 or CUL8R, it tells me several things about the author, none of them complimentary:

1) He or she is lazy. Just how much effort is required to use the shift key to distinguish the pronoun I from the letter i or to mark the first word of a sentence?

2) He or she is probably a bad speller and wants to hide this unpleasant truth.

3) He or she is oblivious to the function of punctuation, regards it as mere decoration, and therefore has (from sheer ignorance) discarded it.

4) He or she is unaware that the purpose of writing is to communicate as clearly as possible with the reader, not to present symbols to be decoded. A writer's first obligation is to make the reader's task easy. Writing in code arrogantly ignores this silent contract that exists between reader and writer.

5) He or she is just an annoying and immature hack, with no comprehension of or respect for civilized communication.

Mr. Capitalization is your friend. Get to know him and use him at the beginning of your sentences. ;)

I have a hard time keeping up with capital letters. I have been doing better lately though. It's a bad habit to let Word fix everthing when you type.
