Default Cool new truck at work... Cat 777F

So for the past week or so we've had a couple new trucks at our dealership. We usually don't handle the really big stuff, but these were just large enough to transport and then fit inside our shop doors (by inches).

It's a Caterpillar 777F Off-Highway. (Not the biggest Cat, but still plenty big)
Some specs:
Payload class: 100 tons
Top Speed: 40.1 mph
Engine Model: Cat C32 Acert
Net Power: 938.7 hp
Number of cylinders: 12
Displacement: 1959 cubic inch / 32.1 liter
Gross machine weight: 360,000 lbs
Fuel tank: 300 gal
Rear axle oscillation: 5.4 degrees

Me next to the truck... It's on a flatbed, and the front tire is actually only about 3 inches off the ground.

Wheels hang over the flatbed

11 Axle Tractor-Trailer to haul it (minus box on 777F) -sorry, crappy camera-phone pic from a distance

What the truck looks like with the box on.

This truck left our facility last night or the night before, late in the evening. That way there was less traffic to block off or avoid when traveling to it's final destination in SW Minnesota (about 60 miles away).

That's a great place I was wondering what excavator locally had that kind of equipment.

Do you ever crawl with the MNRCRC?

That is correct. It is purely mechanical as are ALL Cat enddumps. There are several sizes up from this one. We could fit a 789 in our shop with the bed UP.

CAT will be making some of the dozers electric drive next year I believe, others soon to follow WHEN things start to pick up again... I work for Wagner equipment here in Co. Our shop just did a CAT cert. rebuild on a 777. It was pretty cool seeing something that big in our shop... There was a customer in the shop when the engine was sitting in the floor getting ready to drop in (oil pan 1/4" from the floor and the engine was over 6' tall!! He asked how much power it puts out? We told him about 1000 HP, he said That's it? One of the other techs said yeah that's it..... 1000 HP 24 hours a day 7 days a week, they never shut these things down unless they break! He said Oh.

Yeah, like I said it's the biggest we can handle at this location... We are pretty much in a major metropolitan area.

But our Buhl, MN facility is were all the BIG stuff it at. They have several large mechanic bays specially designed for the largest Cats (D11, 797, 994, etc). There's even a special compacted road that leads from the mine to our facility.
Although occasionally one of the tractors needs to be transported further... I did have a pic of a D11 on two tractor-trailers (side by side). Each tractor-trailer had special tires to help hold the weight. I'll see if I can get a pic of it...
