| Micro Nitro
It's not a crawler. It's 1/18th. It's even been done once or twice before. It's cool, even if you aren't into this scene. I found this teaser while searching www.teamxray.com I can't wait to run this thing inside |

Probably small displacement, similar to a Norvel .09 up to maybe a standard .12? I also couldn't resist thinking about their M18t. Hmm, truck suspension on the nitro chassis? Hmmmmm... |

the mini rs4 is 1/12 not 1/18. They were huge around here. They did have there own class. The lap times were faster than the 1/10 rs4. |

Looks like a .12. think about that little car with a L can brushless and 4 cell lipo. I bet that would be even faster, if you could keep it from tearing itself apart. |

I'm familiar with the HPI Mini from '98 or so. I have had several of them. They were 1/12 scale, not 1/18th. The only 1/18th mods so far have been homebrews to the Micro RS4 chassis and to the Mini-T. Both were extremely limited in production numbers and expensive. I'll have to post some pics of my HPI Mini's. Let's just say that I have that base covered. They had phenomenal power to weight ratios. What was so great about them was that they were essentially the RS4 platform, but stripped down and with a short wheelbase. Even if they weren't necessarily faster, they felt twice as fast because of their quick handling. This nitro 1/18th (with even a .10) should have pretty interesting performance, but like John says, it had better be able to hold up in the parts department. As fo HPI's old Nitro Mini / Ofna Colt, I need to finish one project before another. I still need to find a piston sleeve to my EK4 engine .70 in a mini... |

There is a limit of course. At a certain point it is simply absurdity factor over performance.

.70 IN A MINI... DAMN i blow up the diffs in my savage with a .247 cant imagine a .70... and i think johnrobholmes would be right about the brushless.... but then it would just be another 1/18th electric... he he can u imagine puttin a nice bigblock in that xray i think it will have plenty of power for its weight tho... hey wile ur at it just stick one of thoes huge supercharged 4 stroke nitro motors in ur mini then gear up |

Heh. The .70 is sitting in line. So far the biggest thing that will fit without modification is a .28, but I do have a chassis that I'm willing to hack up. There's not much that will blow up the Robinson aluminum diffs in it though. Besides, in a car that overpowered, you simply lose traction instead of melting differentials.

Haha. Cool. But I think these mini cars are going to really hard to control. Maybe it's just cheaper to tape bottle rockets to some Hotwheels. |

you can put insanely huge motors in a tc because the tires will spin before the dif's melt. i sent a mail to xray with the link to the hpi car, i cant wait to see what they say. even though it looks like that hpi isnt as small as the xray |

it would be an absurdly overpowered electric. how about more than a horsepower of pure torque? I dont think anything 1/18th would work, unless you called it a monster truggy and put 2.2's and maxx diffs into it. BOY would that be fast. But only in a straight line. | |

yes, yes; i see now that they are not the same scale. but thats not really the point i was after, the fact that they say "worlds first MICRO" <<< thats the part.... which now confuses me even more that hpi says 1/12th is micro??..... but still, xray is probobly really cool, but you dont need to make it THAT dramatic. all i have to say......

Generaly, I hate nitro vehicles altogether. The only one I have now is a kyosho toyota 4runner with the cvcc transmission, and it has never been fired up. Smelly, oily, dirty creatures- and you can't chase the cats around the house. But I am going to get one of those!!!!! That is going to be insane fast. How much do you think they will go for?
