| Does your local hobby shop support crawlers?
I was wondering how many of your local hobby shops support crawling. By this I mean do they stock the parts that you use, Will they order things in a timely fashion and such. The crawlers have started coming out of the woodwork around here lately and now when you walk into the lhs you will find just about any tire you could want, gears, gear redictions, motors oyu name it. And the owner, bieng a retired engineer, is always eager to help you sort out whatever problems you might be having or advise on major changes you would want to make. Although you might get a 30 minute explanation to a 10 minute problem. He also has a small machine shop and will help you make links, turn down gear reduction shafts and such free of charge. As for special orders everyting is ordered on monday and you get it on wednesday. |

Well my LHS sucks I brought my Clod in and they thought it was a txt-1. They stock zero tamiya parts. Since they sell nothing but maxxes and maxx replicas. They don't under stand crawlers or going slow.

My LHS is AWSOME! West Valley Hobby. They support crawlers very much so, mainly because Kaetwo and I got all the employees into crawling by bringing in our crawlers and eventually building one of the guys one. It has exploded here. There is also chafeys shop about 1 1/2 hours from here (Hts Hobbies) He is an avid crawler and a great suporter of our cause. I wish his shop were closer to me.

My LHS is similar to Aubie's except they don't have a machine shop. But they are older and have been around forever, carry a good amount of parts and are more then willing to order ANY thing I want. They love it when I bring in my TXT to show them what I have done now with the parts I ordered for a Maxx. You can't go in there expecting quick service though, they like to chit chat. I like that about them, they will spend as much time on you as nessasary and will not try to rush to the next customer. J&M Hobbies, San Carlos CA. |

PFFFFFFFFFFT!! I wish. Guy doesn't support anyone except Geriatric RC Plane hobbyists!!! He tried to sell me an Integy Lathe motor for 50$!!!! Insisting thats what he payed for it!! Then he tried to sell me some stock cans for 20$ a pop! He carries some interesting things, he has good wire and connectors, but he's got bupkiss otherwise. Not to mention his prices are HEINOUS! Did I mention he is the only shop for over 100 miles? |

Both shops in the south bay don't really know what a crawler is. One (RC unlimited) has tons of parts for maxx's and touring cars but are willing to help. They carry 645MG servos and lots of maxx tires. The other shop(Sheldon's Hobbies) is a race and plane shop. Big plane section lots of parts. But again don't have a crawling clue. The guy behind the counter last time I was there thought it was weird I put a 55t motor in a monster truck. He did how ever understand the reason. Lots of torgue! I don't order parts from either of them. I go online. |

Local HobbyClown doesn't get it....Applied there, need a job thing to support the habbit, and had the manager tell me he just can't understand the point of crawling Although they will order anything I need. When I brought the TXT in, they didn't know what it was, or why I need all that flex. Bob's Hobbies in South Denver is great, one of the guys there has built custom crawlers, go fast cars, and will spend as much time as we need to figure out what is needed to pimp out the trucks. |

my LHS sucks donkey balls if it doesn't have anything to do with racing, they don't want any part of it and if you ask them to order it, they always say" its been on order and we have no idea when it will be here" now the local Hobbytown USA ( not exactly close to me, but close enough) always has the stuff i need in stock, if not they will have it by the end of the week for me. so i always just head out there |

Well my LHS doesn`t have a clue what crawling is all about, primarily aircraft and Maxxes, but he will try to answer questions and will order anything I need. Orders and tuesdays and gets the parts on Thursdays. I say LHS but it takes about 50 min to drive there. I bought my IC2000 tire glue there and told him I was narrowing my Kongs and he just looked at me like I had lost my mind . The is also King RC in NC, 140 miles round trip. They don`t know what a crawles is eighther but the stock almost everything, the largest hoddy shop I`ve ever seen. The stock everything from most wheels and tires to both the GD600`s and planetary reductions. Will order anything and ship to my address. I haven`t taken my crawler to eighter shop yet, I guess I should though. May generate some interest. |

THe lhs around here are ok. They dont stock crawler parts. The main shop I go to stocks Touring cars, but he is frendly and will order anything I need. But 99% of my stuff touring car or truck is bought online. Just about everything is/was bought off ebay except for my integy motors, 9t pinions and servos.

RC Plus in Salem, Oregon highly supports crawlers. The owner has been stocking up on GD-600's, REVO shafts, small pinions and various crawler oriented parts. I got a man on the inside there http://www.rcplus.com Hell, RCRockGear.com is even listed on the web links page |

my hobby shop sucks also. they only carry traxxas t maxx and other independent truck parts. I go in there to get a axle tub for my clod and they said they can order it but since tamiya is overseas it would take a month to get it. screw that i went to tower and had it in 5 days.

No rc crawling in my area so my LHS doesnt stock the parts for crawling. Hopefully after I get mine done and word gets out, that will change. Of course since I work there I can order whatever I want.
