Default tire sizes/ rig sizes.

whats up with plain ole maxx tires? except for a few clods with maxx masher, i never see many 6 inch tires being run anymore. its all 2.2, jumbo maxx, or 40's. its like the 1/8th scale is skipped for the 6th scale.

Is it the comps pushing the tires bigger, or the axle widths making the bigger tires better or what? It seems that we have a pretty big gap with most of our builds. the wheelbases seem to jump from the 12.5 inch 2.2's up to around 16 and more for the big beasts.

discuss, or show me that I just dont pay attention to your mid size rig.

Actually I think the tires are getting smaller. The Flat irons Colorado guys where running standard size Proline mashers for a lower COG and gear ratio compared to the Moab 40's. The new 2.2 moabs are smaller then the mashers and alot of people are switching over.

I have a 14.5" wheelbase Maxx with the narrow suspension arms and stock(cut) tires. I kinda like it the size it is. I dont compete so I dont have to worry about fitting into the 2.2 class or being too small to be competitive in the unlimited class. But i may lengthen the wheelbase an inch and go to 40 series maxx mashers.
