Thought I'd give some home state beer a try. After all, North Carolina produces some decent micros like Duck-Rabbit and Cottonwood. I picked up a sixer of Lone Rider Shotgun Betty Hefeweizen. Now I love me some wheats, but this one comes off a little weak. It has a great banana-clove start then nothing. Pretty label though. Gotta go back to Cottonwood Low Down Brown or Franziskaner Weissbier. |

Anyone pick up any DFH 120 Minute yet this year? I've heard it's on the way to Florida now, but some other states have already gotten theirs.

New item at the local shop. More on the malty side, but not bad. Smooth from start to finish. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22893/58606 |

Friend brought this back for me from a recent trip to Colorado. Their IPA, and it's like drinking a bitter watery pine tree. |

nothing else i've tried screams "pine trees" like Harpoon's Winter Warmer. I do not advocate drinking it, neither. |

| The Sierra Nevada Winter Ale tastes the same way to me. I got some Sam Adams Octoberfest today, I was surprised to see it already. There was also a good looking brunette giving away samples of a canned beer from Maui, it is called Coconut Stout. Damn good beer!! I post a pic of the can tomorrow.

I find myself buying a lot of limited or seasonal releases here lately. I tend to kick myself if I don't when I read good things about it later. | |
