Default Central States "Nationals"??? IL/IN/WI/MN/KY/TN/MO/OH etc

With all the hurt feelings (rightfully so) about the moving of "worlds" to California and the discussion of a new sanctioning body breaking off... I thought we should look into setting up a LARGE comp in the center of the country. Something like this will take allot of planning so it wont be happening next month but, Oct isn't out of the question.

Here my proposal, you can agree with it or offer your own.

Location: Badlands OHV park in Attica IN
Time frame: Oct 2009 (pending park approval)
participant cost: $50 per class
Classes: 2.2, super, 1.9
format: Nationals style, 2-3 day event

I have talked to the park owners previously and they were up for it. It would cost of course, we had negotiated a price of around $300-$400 for a 1 day event, 2 day would prolly cost us about $1000.
Everything would need to be done by a committee of club leaders, from exact comp format to course design.

I need to make it to Crawlapalooza, maybe since I cant go to worlds do to money and Job saying I cant resched vacation...

My thought on Attica was that its fairly centralized and its a place I know. I would be all for Superlift park except that its way south to be true central. Something in west Ten or even southern Tip of Il would almost be prefect. I think there is an OHV park called Little Egypt near Mt Vernon Il that is pretty rocky (too far for me to just scout though).

The reason I said the 2 day event at Badlands would be around $1000, we would rent the entire rock quarry, not just half like he had quoted me before. That way there would be plenty of space and courses.

Crawlaplooza is FREE to Drive any Rig On... 1:1 or RC.. No need to rent anything for a day or two... This keeps the Drivers Cost down.

You really do need to make it Disney for Crawlapalooza. We are still planning to try to go to it. It is hands down my favorite place that we have been so far. Way better than Moab, even, IMO. Don't know if we could make it to another big one this year, though.

Disney is the place. Crawlapalooza should be another good one this year. Already starting to talk planning with ROCKEDUP.

This will the 3rd year for Crawlapalooza, We hope it will be another fun time for all that attend. We have other clubs around us helping with it this year. I been talking with most of them for months about it.

Has far as putting the word Nationals on Crawlapalooza, not this year. Maybe next year if the USRCCA wants to we could.
I have a feeling that there will be more than one USRCCA Nationals next year. More like 3 or 4 around the country ,so a lot of people can go to them and qualify for the worlds. That is where that is going, who knows the Worlds could be, maybe in Japan next year.

More than one National...that can't happen in 1 country. There can be regionals which lead to a national which leads to a world.
