Default This Aint No Crawler !!!

I figure I would throw something different onto the site so here it is

Here it is A 6X6 Wrecker created by Dirtkiller then traded off to dritdog, And now It's finally in my hands. I wanted this thing ever since I saw it...

12 Aluminum shocks
Bearinged gearcases
Custom made links
chrome wheels all around
custom made flatbed

An now its mine

Its in it's beginning stages still, but I'll give ya a sneek peak as to the direction I'm going with it
How about a GraveDigger Extended body for starters

I got the chassis and some other parts Powdercoated and they came out awesome

I also started to gather up some parts...Heres the Aluminum gears

Purple Integy Piggybacks

And the Powdercoated Links And Bennet Bumper

Heres a Sneek Peek with the Digger Body

I started the build-up and here we are...Links and gearcases added

Ok, I mounted the axles and added the links...To give extra support, I added axles tube braces to the 2 rear gearcases. I'm still trying to find 2 for the front ... (Can anybody help me out here ? ) .. I also added aluminum rod ends to the front middle and rear gearcases

Heres a side view with some tires I threw on just to get an idea of what its gonna look like.. These tires are NOT gonna stay on, I have other plans

Heres the Bennet Bumper whcih I had to cut just so It would fit between the axle stays and the shock mounts

Heres what she's looking like at this point

Critique or compliment whatever you think

Definitely different, I'll give it that. Not my cup of tea, but cool nonetheless. And, since you're not using these tires anyway, sell me the GT's cheap, I need spares...

Monster trucks have this, but they aren't crawlers.

That monster looks pretty cool! I like the two different colors you used with the powercoating. Nice to see you didn't do everything one color. It would have washed out all the cool parts. I bet that thing weighs a ton too! Post more pics as you make more progress!!

OK guys, time for a lil update

I got the tires and rims mounted and I painted the body. No custom job just yet, but I think it still looks prety kool

I'm still waiting for some electronics and some other aluminum parts that are getting powdercoated, but It's coming out pretty good

Being that the chassis is a bit longer than the body, I had to do the best I could mounting the body in the center so it would look even from end to end..I'm still trying to figure out how high or how low I want to mount the body

Enjoy

Alfy

If you would have cut the chassis off right behind the rear shock mounts and right in front of the front shock mounts, you could have lowered the body down 2" or better and not had to cut the body up as much. Woulda looked much better/cleaner in my opinion.

To be honest I didnt want to mess with the chassis in case I wanted to use the wrecker bed again...If I did shorten the chassis then there would be no way to mount the wrecker bed properly, unless I did more modifying, which was not what I was looking to do... The body height still has not been set in that position either... I'm still working on how high/low I want it to sit
