Poor Jeep..

Code454 09-14-2009 11:04 PM

ditch the body and throw something cool on it

TattooKenny 09-14-2009 11:08 PM

If they cut the top off or chopped it about 12-14", flat blacked the whole thing, white walls, it wouldn't look half bad.

BJoe 09-14-2009 11:11 PM

That's what I was thinking, or maybe hit with a little OD, kinda looks like a half assed Bucket-T made with a CJ and painted in 70's era Jeep colors

I'd take the top off, channel the tub, chop the windshield judiciously, flat black the whole thing, and do something about the interior. The stock CJ gages and buckets aren't cutting it. maybe a bench seat with a mexican blanket on it. Whitewalls would be cool too. Then I'd clean up the engine, it looks stupid like that. Then it would be pretty damn cool.

It looks like a streetable version of what you might see at Gravelrama.

Top definately needs to come off.
Something like this would have been cool.

Agreed - lose the top. But with that body, why not keep it a little different? 9 out of 10 "rat-rods" are flat black, with a Mexican blanket covered bench seat, and white-wall tires. If you're going to be different, be different. I say make it flat olive drab. Keep the bucket seats - but switch them out for old military style ones, and maybe throw some camo-print fabric on 'em. As for tires, no white-walls. Something with an agressive tread, but still rolls nice on the road, to give it an off-road look. And maybe a winch on the front, just for kicks. Give it that rat-rod/military/off-road mash-up look 8)

I think I could do something with that.Going to get on the Phone now and try and talk someone in to building one.:)

Toyota built this one for sema a few years ago, it was pretty sweet.

I love that FJ rod, Richard Graves did an awesome job on it. I really wanna go hack up a Pro-Line shell now.
