| Calling All Uk Crawlers
After searching some old posts, it seems that theres a few members on here from the UK. I was wonder if any of u were still actively using this site or indeed still crawling. A few thoughts came to mind.... Where do u get parts from over here? Where do u go to crawl? What sort of crawler u got? Where abouts in the UK are u? It would also make sense for the UK guys to pull resources, to make life easier for ourselves. For example, i've been paying £3.99 for a pair of Deans batt connectors, i've just found a uk place that does a bag of 10 pairs for about £15. How many of u know about such places already? I also have to import a lot of stuff for my crawler, maybe i can put a stop to that if we can find UK stockists between ourselves? Finally of course, maybe we could organise a meeting somewhere? If i'm honest, other than pictures, the only crawler i've ever seen is my own. That can't be good for improving it. Anyways, if there is more than just me, sign in on here & lets see if we can maybe start to help each other out! Copy these lines below & fill in the 'blanks' at the start of ur post Name - Age - Location - Crawler/s - Other RCs - Shops that stock more than damn Revo parts - Any other random fact that i ought to mention - |

Hi Mat, and Newth, Age - 36 or should that be 21/15. Location, Isle of Wight. Crawler/s, Stock TLT, just built it and played with it for 5 minutes, now it's stripped down. Let the modding commence. Other R/Cs, FG Monster Beetle, various Nitro's and Electric's. Shops that stock more then damn Revo parts, umm Any other fact that I ought to mention, I can't find any 3mm threaded rod on my Island. Just getting into the whole crawler thing, I race my FG during the Summer at Sweetnap in Frome, Somerset, so maybe a get together would be fun. |

Name - Andy Age - 35 Location - Luton, Bedfodshire, UK. Crawler/s - TLT x 2 Other RCs - cc-01, Hummer, 6x4 ford truck x 2, couple of other 1/10 4x4s. Only tamiya stuff. Shops that stock more than damn Revo parts - Models in motion, stevenage. General race shop but keep some tyres, links rods, shafts etc. Goldstarstockists, stevenage, some good deals and willing to order any tamiya parts, takes a while to get in stock though, Any other random fact that i ought to mention - I like the scale crawlers and will be makng scale yank military 6x6 and 8x8 trucks, I like 1/12 scale for some reason, I will make my own 2 speed transfer boxes etc, have my own lathe and mill etc. I will be back in country in late feb 06. Used to make range rover and landrover based triallers and racers for the awdc and local guys done plenty of racing and trialling in my time and trained as a landrover factory tech. I would welcome a crawler meet even if it was a pub for starters. my only stipulation is that any guys we meet are friendlier than most of the guys on rccrawler, there are a few exceptions to that statement but Ive had my fill of "experts" it dont wind me up any more just makes me laugh. |
