Default Yeah Yeah Yeah Another Computer Question

Hey all. I have been really thinking about asking for a computer for Christmas. Im just not sure what I want and am hoping you guy's can help. Im not much of a gamer but have been thinking of doing the R-FACTOR Racing. I do like watching videos on the computer. What are some of your recommendations? Thanks

First off, do you want a desktop or a laptop? There are pro's and con's to each.

I love my laptop, it's got plenty of power for what I do with it, it's small and doesn't make much noise at all. It's got a large enough screen(17"), but it also has an HDMI port to hook it up to my TV if I want. Looking at the specs of that game you suggested, any new mid-range laptop with a dedicated graphics card should do just fine. I'd say your only limiting factor is how much you (or the person/s buying the computer for you) are willing to spend.

This past weekend I put together a barebones kit that I got from Tiger Direct. If you already have a good monitor, keyboard and mouse and you have the original disks for your software, then you'll get much more for your money with a kit like this. Here is the kit that I bought:

$319 and free shipping. The computer is quite fast! I was also able to install my two harddrives from my other computer. It now has just over 1.5TB of storage....
