98 jeep wrangler ?????

Me and my boss just got done looking at a 98 jeep wrangler with 2.4L. I noticed the brake lines are a little rusted and im wondering if and who sells a complete brakeline kit that covers the whole jeep all 4 wheels and that are pre bent and the price range.

Thanks

I'd look elsewhere... that 4cyl is crap. Not crap entirely, but if you plan on modding it, you're going to hate the lack of power. I spent a long time looking for a good deal on my 97 TJ with a 4.0L. Glad I did.

as far as the brake lines go, dealer. But if the lines are rusty, it's probably not originally from Arizona. ;)

I'd still look for a 6cyl. The 4banger in Wrangler have always been gutless, and that's an understatement.

I've seen 4cyl do things a heaver 6 would have issues with so I can't agree with all these statements.

The 4 isn't that bad. If you live in a Hilly area. The highway is the worst... May have to downshift to 4th to pull some of the hills. The 6 will do no problem. MPG is about the same. But for just going to the Mall and a School.. It's fine. Even for wheeling is more then enough. I wheeled one for years. Loved it.... Just enough power to spin the wheels, but never broke much.

and the 2.4 will do fine for what he is going to use it for. even off road i have had good luck with the motor. i like having the extra power of the Inline 6, but the 4 cyl is fine.

For a crawler, it's all about the gearing.

It sounds like his plans are for it to be a daily driver....in that case, I would go with the 6cyl.

BTW, IIRC, 98's had a 2.5L....not that it really matters though.

if its a 1998 its got the 2.5L 4cyl which not the same as the 2.4L 4cyl as pointed out above.

The 2.4L (available in the 2002+ Wranglers) makes more power and seems to be more efficient while doing it. Its a much more modern design with dual overhead cams I believe. the 2.5 is based on the inline-6 with two cylinders lopped off.
