ya, I am fine, some idiot decided to move over a lane I was in like I wasn't there. Well after he did that he braked checked me hard because I was too close on his rear end. Go figure? he put himself there!! When I yanked the wheel to miss hitting him I went into a slid and then the rig whipped back the other way and then I hit him in the side/rear because he was still on the brakes for no reason. then right when I hit him I went over on my side and slid about 50'.

Sounds like an insurance scam. Folks do that crap these days just to get paid.

Glad you're ok. I hope you have witnesses.

(Waiting for someone to say that's "Trail damage for a Mall Crawler")

That sucks. I read about a guy that did the cut you off and brake check you routine. Ended up flipping a few times, and killing himself.

Glad your alright, the rig is repairable/replaceable, you on the other hand......

That sucks man. I'm always afraid something like that will happen to me in the 4Runner and I'll go tumbling out of control. Glad to see it wasn't too serious.

material objects are replaceable, you are not. glad you are ok.

hope you had some witnesses, else they will consider it your fault....

sounds like a "swoop and squat"

as far as the damage goes, looks like its time for some tube fenders

Huh, guess I was wrong. I thought all the crapy drivers lived here in Utah.

Sorry about the jeep man. Bad drivers really piss me off. It seems like about every few weeks some one about hits me because they are on their cell phone "multi-tasking".

It may, but I doubt it... Have you ever driven in NJ? People do that on a daily basis.

I have a YJ on 33's and always worry about things like that. I'm just waiting for the time someone does that to me. I already know, I probably wont be able to stop.

Good luck with the repairs, it's doesn't look too bad. You can always say it was trail damage!!

I'm glad to hear you came out alright. I beat your sore after something like that. I had something like that happen to me. I was driving and coming up on an entersection. A mini van coming the other way went to turn in front of me. All she said was " I thought I had time." Man I hit her pass door going 55mph. Went from 55 to 0 in less then a sec....I het here in the pass side sliding door and we ended up nose to nose. It damaged both front fenders, grill, bent the frame a little and some how the oil fliter was knocked loose. When the tow truck driver tried to drive it up on the bed he pumped all the oil out and locked up my motor. Later that day I just put my new 35in BFG's on too.

Thanks guys, yep I got lucky on not being hurt. The Jeep can be fixed, I just hope the 2 witnesses that gave a statement saw him jam the brakes for no reason. I am going to try and get the police report today. I did hear that the cops impounded the other guys car, so it might go my way.

Doubtful.
It is very, very, very rare that you will win in a case where you were following too closely, no matter what the circumstances or who's fault or if they guy did it on purpose.
Why was his car impounded? Was he DUI?
No insurance? Outstanding tickets?
Even if the guy was drunk, you might have a hard time with this one.
