Default Best BBQ

I lived in Kansas City for 16 years and grew rather fond of BBQ, but I'm biased, so whats your fav BBQ joints?

Here's My fav back in KC
http://www.jackstackbbq.com/default.asp

and the Marysville steakhouse here in Helena MT where I live now.

Anyone who's come early for Scale Nat's has been there and had their steaks and garlic English muffins

When I was working in Overland Park, Jack Stack was like my second home, seriously some of the best BBQ I have ever had.

3 Way Combo....Brisket, Ribs and Hot links. Both sides, potato salad. We hit up the Hayward spot about twice a month. A tad pricey, but its so worth it.

well I live on BBQ and mexican food in the summer.
my opinion of BBQ is if it needs BBQ sauce it aint no good.
no chopped for this texan.

I travel all over texas. this is what I have found.

1.huntsvill off of hwy 19 I think a hole in the wall place that is run
by a black church group I think. place looks rough on the outside.
clean on the inside.
great BBQ brisket and great buttermilk pie

2. brenham tx hwy 290 close to 36
a gas station that has the best ribs hands down every time I stop.
ribs are all I get here anymore, but its all great.

3.meridian tx. right by the square you cant miss it.
this place has great brisket, ribs are fair.

4.hondo tx off hwy 90 on the west side of town.
cant miss this place it looks like a old cabin.
great food all around.

5.llano tx off hwy 29 just past 16
again great food al around and the absolute best
blackberry cobbler

thats all that stand out

Agreed. If they have sauce or knives on the table, you shouldnt eat it.

My pop makes the best BBQ ever. The brisket melts in your mouth. The grill in his back yard can cook about 10 briskets and about 30 or so whole chickens at one time. It's a decent size.

Salt Lick's OK. They've gone downhill in the past 10 years or so.

There is a little stand on 620 near Lakeway outside of Austin that makes the best BBQ. They are open until they sell out. They sell out at 11am.

There's a small restaurant down by my office (610 and Richmond Ave) called Luling BBQ that makes some good stuff!

my favorite bbq comes from my backyard. every time i've tried bbq at a restaurant, i end up disappointed. i know a restaurant vs. a person bbq'ing small amounts are two different things. but if i'm going to pay for it, it better be good. and 9 out of 10 times, it's horrible. so i don't bother with bbq joints.

i'm not saying i'm the king of bbq. i am saying mine is better than you can get at a restaurant.

American Royal happens about 5 miles from where I am sitting right now. None of you people can even talk about BBQ as good as that, I don't care who you are

I am a BBQ freak, living in KC has only made it worse.

besides my Dad's BBQ, theres a place here in town called Buzz BBQ, its awesome! everything is smoked low and slow, its a little ma & pa kinda place. there's also another one called Lucille's that's pretty damn good. but like i said, i prefer my dad's over any of them.

Smokey Pig, Columbus, GA. No website... just tables, chairs, and BBQ.

There are plenty of BBQ places here and each one has it's own little fanbase...more like unruley mob. If you talk crap about a rival's BBQ you might end up in the hospital. Serious business.

Of course I'm joking(a little), but it would make for a good episode of Seinfeld.

That's what I was going to say.

Cool pics, badger!

We've talked about the WSM before. Love my new 22!
Badger, BD, rockpiledriver, pigeonfarmboy, johnson420, and myself will all agree on DIY BBQ over any restaurant. It isn't that hard to learn to make world class BBQ.
