My favorites were the morbid songs from his later years, but here's a few good ones:

Cocaine Blues is the best Johnny Cash song ever, with Big River coming in a close second.

I got to get some speakers for this thing I guess.

all his songs are great.

but one thing that gets me,in fact its getting me right now[I can feel my throwt getting tight]

is how long they loved each other and how close they died one after the other.

makes me think of a movie my wife made me watch

the notebook I think it is. great movie.

but right now I feel like listening to

how highs the water momma?

I never listened to him until after he died. While simple in some ways, I could hear, and almost see a darkness that had shadowed his life.

Probably the typical answer, but my favorite song is "The Man in Black".
I find his songs very personal, and i can relate to some of them.

When I was a kid we would make my Dad play Ring Of Fire on the 8 track over and over and over... He probably hated that song because of us. Still listen from time to time. RIP Johnny

Feb 26, 2010 4:40 pm Apple's iTunes Store reached a major milestone this week when it delivered its 10 billionth song, an event that highlights the great success of Cupertino's digital-download service.

Oh, the name of the 10 billionth song downloaded: “Guess Things Happen That Way” by Johnny Cash.

My mother had "Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison" when we were kids. It was the first album that I was allowed to put on and play by myself. My favorites are, in no particular order:

One piece at a time
The ballad of Ira Hayes
A Boy named Sue
Folsom Prison Blues
Big River
Hurt

I know Nine Inch Nails did Hurt first, but Johnny did it better

Rest in Peace Johnny Cash!!

I agree! I love that version. I love all Johnny Cash songs, my favorites would be:
Blistered
Folsom Prison Blues
Cocaine Blues
I Got Stripes
Wanted Man
Understand Your Man
Get Rhythm
Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down

It's amazing how many people love Johnny and how many artists he has influenced across all genres of music.
