Trick is the transmission shifter has no linkage - it's electronic.

So, if it IS an electrical problem as it would seem the transmission may not shift to neutral in which case killing power is the thing to do.

2nd vid is still funny.

drive by wire in a completely different and separate system from the electronic shift tranny. the shifting always has priority over the throttle, its a built in safety mechanism. we used to run into problems with prius's all the time when i worked in a body shop, the car is run by too many bad electronics .either way wont catch me in a prius to begin with

Funny, I haven't had a single problem with my throttle or shift cables.

Now the choke cable on the '77 Toyota that's in the garage could stand to be replaced but I'll probably go to the bike shop and rebuild it.

This faulty Toyota thing is the modern version of school shootings or planes crashing into a building. (don't take that the wrong way, you guys know what I mean)

The more the media hypes it the more occourences you'll hear about from owners. The two (media and Toyota owners like the guy on the Cali freeway) feed off one another and they both have the same end goal - money.

It's not a "Sticking" situation as much as it is an electronic glitch.

I'm sure it can/has happened, but we're to the point that more and more people are saying "me too". Can't be that many all of a sudden.

Unless Tiger is fawking them up.
