I adjust the vents at the bottom and on the lid to get my desired temp.

Gas is easy that is for sure, though charcoal really isn't all that much harder or time consuming.

My gas grill has never dried out anything... But I guess gas or charcoal will if you don't tend what you're cooking.

Perhaps you haven't noticed because you are used to it.

With metal BBQ's it wicks heat and moisture away because it's conductive. That is why a lot of people switch out to ceramic or another material.

Roast a turkey in you gas grill and roast on in a green egg... I think you will notice the difference...

Though - hell, I still use metal too, but for the ultimate bbq, anything but metal is best.

To each his own...
Turkeys, brisket, ribs, etc. get smoked in my smoker, not grilled on my grill....
And please don't assume what gets cooked on my gas grill gets dried out

right on. surely wasn't trying to argue and sorry if it came off that way.

The one thing about a grill like the green egg that is nice is that it can literally do it all; smoke, bake, grill, etc. And it does it all very well.

This thread is making me want a charcoal grill, but truth be told, my wife does 99% of the cooking and grilling. I highly doubt she'll pass up the convenience of propane.

Iv had a stainless gas Charbroil for 3 years now and I love it. You just got to keep them clean and covered and they'll last a long time. And also you know the saying, "you get what you pay for"

Real men BBQ with Charcoal grill or smoker! If you want to cook with a Gas grill just buy a gas range for your house.

Yes it take some practice but it turns out soooo much better! IMOP

Hmmmm, I should probably mention this though....

Call the "Call Before You Dig" 1-800 # before you go digging a random hole in your yard. Never know where someone that owned the land before you, may have buried their beloved pet or something else....like electrical wires leading to a building that is not attached to the home.

I would suggest a weber. I assemble display grills for the company i work for and they seem to made out of heavier guage parts and they always fit together. Looks to me that weber pays alot more attention to quality than the cheaper grills we carry.
