| I've had with cheap gas grill...suggestions?
Well, I've had it. Our second grill has rusted out in a matter of 6 years. First grill was a cheap Fiesta from the depot, second and most recent was a Kenmore that was a little bit more. Now I'm thinking Ducane or Weber. I'm not a charcoal guy, so propane it is. Suggestions? |

We've had our Weber for 8 years now. The only thing I've had to replace out of necessity were the burner tubes.

That's my brother in law as well. He bought his Weber six years back when I got my cheapo Fiesta grill. They had a recall with the grilling grates and other than that, the grill is as good as the first day they bought it.

Stainless steel grill with stainless grates and brass burners, or just go cheap and know you'll be buying another one in two years.

If you're going to get a stainless one, take a magnet with you. If it sticks to it then it's not really stainless and will rust out.

We had a Fiesta grill also. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough. Ended up buying this Charbroil Code Red infrared grill and I absolutely love it. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=100606087 |

My dad bought his original Weber in 1985, my sister now has the grill, and it still works great. I have had a Weber for 4 years now, and dad has a new Weber, they are nice grills and not shitty pot metal. The burners are stainless which is great since propane attracts water= rust on cheap grills.

.....Or......... You could just dig a hole in the ground and burn wood, and make your own grill cover. |

http://www.biggreenegg.com/ My builder sells these at his hot tub store. Definitely nice units. But I'm going to go propane. Some day I'll have the time to cook with charcoal and taste my food.

Couple friends of mine have these and swear by them. They make some awesome food on them. Me personnally, after owning a Weber Summit Gold Series or w/e it was called... spent nearly 2k on it back in 2000 or so. After 6 hard years on it, it finally gave up the ghost. I wasn't going to spend that much next time so I bought a simple round charcoal weber. After you go coal, you won't go back IMO. Use real hardwood/lump coal though. My next BBQ, will be a brick and mortar style one where I can smoke/grill/bake or w/e. Besides r/c's, this is probably my next biggest hobby. SS

| You keep thinking that There's nothing wrong with charcoal grills and some of the grills you guys posted are very nice. I like the convenience factor of a gas grill. If I want my food to have a smokey, wood taste, I can easily add wood chips or I could use my water smoker that's sitting next to the grill |

I think gas dries out the food easier... And if you use a metal bbq, it can dry it out more as well... Gas is easy that is for sure, though charcoal really isn't all that much harder or time consuming. SS

traeger wood pellet smoker/grill... ease of flippng a switch and very low mess. (And no grease fires...ever). With the nice smoked taste. I will never buy another gas grill and charcoal is out in my book as long as I can get 110 to run the auger and fan.
