Default What about the YJs ??????

What about the YJs ????

Does any company make lexan Jeep YJ bodies???
I have been in the crawling sceen for almost a year now and have yet to see one. The only thing even close are the Pajero style, hard plastic bodies that go for close to $65. I thought I saw an old MJ body that someone had/has. I currently have a TJ body but I am interested in a YJ body to match my 1:1

in the mid '80's tamiya had a YJ body made from hard plastic that goes for $$$$$$$$$ on ebay if you can find it. I know that you can get:
CJ8-Scrambler

FJ40-Proline?

TJ,Rubicon-HPI 4 Savage

CJ2A/3A-Tamiya Wild Willy

Some people have been getting diecast models, gutting and then mounting them.... ive seen everything form the full scale GI Joe Jeep to tonka trucks..... Its a cool yet different approach.

Ride? Like I care about the ride My DD is a yota w/ a cheap ass 2" lift with a heinously high spring rate!

I laugh at them because they weight twice as much as my rig and have a third the axle

GO 1/4 TON AXLES!!

I have an 82 and an 83. My GF has an 85 4Runner w/ SA and EFI, beat that

My 83 is the intended trail rig, Its got a D60 front under it, the D70 rear is sitting around waiting to go in. Just needs lots of money Its been put on hold for a while, so I've been focusing on my RC more, its cheaper

My 82 has 200k miles, runs like a fawkin CHAMP and will not die. Its an awesome vehicle, I could never have asked for more from a 2,000$ vehicle. I repaired two things when I first got it(Thats why the PO sold it, cost me about 50$ to fix) I have had ONE issue with the contact in the dist breaking off (PO did a shitty replacement from Kragen or something) but otherwise it has NEVER let me down. Just made the drive from Phoenix and back without a single problem. The 82 is the SR5, btw.

Uhh... Dave.. ALL '85 Runners have solid axles and EFI, hell.. ALL Runners(except the more rare '84 Runners) have EFI.

My '90 3.slow has 287K on it and runs excelent.... I get about 22-24 mpg but I drive it nice since it's my DD. The 4.56 gears are calling for a bigger tire though

My old '83 Toyota had 330+K miles on it when I sold it. It was driven everywhere too. All over the west coast(Canada to Cali plus some).

The whole headlight on Jeeps debate is gay.... Which ever Jeep you buy you still have to ditch the axles just to wheel it. Round or square, it doesn't matter.

dont we all wish your money would take you as far as it does in rc.well if we scale up cost to from 1:10 to 1:1 it gets closer . im trying to price out my swap and its going to be costly but not to bad, with a decent lift of about 6-8 inches. If anyone has a solid front axle for a swap ill trade a complete crawler for it. After the swap its off to lockers i want air or electric lockers but there just to costly, think ill end up going with some auzzie lockers front and rear. and some tsls. Then ill be prety much done, but are projects ever finished?

That might be a bit much for lift. Most guys I know run about 4-5" on 38.5 swampers. Don't be afraid to cut those fenders!!!! Just like in RC the lower the better

Not all /85's have EFI. Only the last 1/2 the year had them standard, and if I remember right, the first 1/2 it was an option.

my '92 YJ has 214K miles and runs good. Although, I haven't driven it in a year, but when it comes out of the garage in a few months, it will have a total face lift.

Nay! There were a few. Carb'd was an option till 87 (?) But yeah, it was far more popular to have EFI w/ em. Too bad the HG nuked on it

And yes, they all were SA. I was clarifying for those who don't know every make and model of Yota trucks and runners
