We fish for walleye, sauger, smallmouth and catfish here, let all the smallmouth back loose. Walleye and sauger are my favorite fish to eat, although flatheads are gaining with me. I used to hate the taste of catfish until I learned to cut it up into nuggets and fry in beer batter, flatheads taste real close to walleye that way and channels and blue's aren't bad, much better taste than fillets.

| Fisherman Treats When I use to live in Detroit Michigan I had the Great Lakes to choose from with my fresh water fish, and I loved it. Now that I've been in Cali for about 12 years I love the Ocean fish. It's all good! The key is prep and cooking methods to get the best flavor and enjoyment out of your fish. "Me Hungry Now"! |

I spent years and years and years fishing Lake of the Woods in Northern Minnesota, Manitoba and Ontario. Personally been through 4 boats of my own. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats the taste of fresh Walleye, sliced fried Potatoes with onions and green peppers and a side of baked beans.

Love fishing but haven't been in a while. When we were still in San Diego I used to fish about once or twice a week. I used to fish South Mission Jeddy for sand and rock bass, sculpin and the occasional halibut. I would also fish Lake Jennings, Lake Cuyamaca and lake Morena for rainbow trout and large and small mouth bass. I have an urban lake about 200 yards from my house and I haven't been there in a few years. |

ive been trying a new method of cleaning my fish to get them to taste better, less of the "fishy" taste. i bring a cooler full of ice with me when we go. if we catch anything we want to keep , i cut the spine and then gut it and put it on ice. cant fully clean them in case the DEC comes by. they need to see what it is and how large the catch is.

Catch and release mostly - really like the fight, especially saltwater species. For eat'n: tuna dorado flatfish sheepshead cod King Salmon catfish trout Grandma told me the secret to good catfish, is to soak it in milk for a few hours, and that gets the mud taste out. Seems to work so far. |

| Sheephead are good eating. We used to fish for them off the jetty's back in the day. Damn good eating, not real strong(taste that is), but put up a pretty good fight. |
