Colorado looks a bit like where I live, except for all the mountains.

I don't know if these qualify as "cool", but they are interesting if you like rare cars. Around 4 years ago, a guy was renting a room at my house, and told me about this car he had, a '69 H/O. He said there were only 2 or 3 made, and of course I thought he was BSing me. So he brings the car up to the house. I took alot of pics of the car. Supposedly, Olds built two convertibles for promotional use, they cruised down the dragstrips during the races (remember Ms. Hurst--Linda Vaughn?) One of the cars was wrecked, and a third one was made to replace it. The car was straight, but was missing the trim around the right headlight and the 455HO stickers that go on the hood scoops (which he had in the trunk, along with the center caps for the wheels). There were also some minor bumper dents. Unfortunately my computer crashed about a year ago, losing all the pictures I took, except for these three I loaded on PB. I took pics of the VIN plate too, and later verified that it was the real thing. I'm not sure if he still has the car, he was up at the house a few months ago. The gentleman's name is Alan Bender. I can't find the registry that has his name attached to the car, or I would have posted it as proof, but I did find it online somewhere. Last edited by gunnar; 07-03-2010 at 11:27 PM. |
