They put it in there and will draw the air out to simulate space and the cold temperatures- will be in there for 3 months.

WOW, is that massive.

When I saw the first picture, 1, I didn't know what I was looking at, and 2, as I tried to figure it out, it started to look like a diorama with a bunch of little figures.

You know, the more I read about those little Chevy Bolts, the more interesting I find them.......................
2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV Drivetrain First Look (w/Video) - Motor Trend

I'm really intrigued by the motor and trans assembly in and of it self, kinda wiSh I had gone to the Chicago Auto Show this past February now

Then there is the battery pack

No joke, I would consider buying one of these little critters, I would even consider a vanity plate for one, maybe "NGRY BRD" OR "NGRY BLT"

Cars with batteries simply don't interest me. In fact, they turn me a way. Batteries are extremely heavy and expensive to replace. Current mass production battery technology is not fit for commuter vehicles IMO. It's getting there, but not there yet.

Small cars are extremely cool these days though. That's only going to continue with the EPA cracking down on cars and enforcing strict MPG requirements.

Well now I know you have never rode in or driven a Tesla.

Nope. I've been in a Tesla store in the KOP Mall. Not sure if it's still there, but that's as close as I've been and as close as I need to be. They're ugly cars and they're electric. Sure, they are quick, but they don't excite me. I have no desire to get in one either. At the rate they break down I'd be walking back anyway.

Elon Musk is a genius. I have no doubt he will get electric cars to where they need to be if he can keep his investors long enough. At this point they still haven't turned a profit. They've been promising year after year that it's coming...

I've got about a dozen folks that own the S, and a couple of the SUV . No issues at all and they are blistering quick, much better than a lexis hybrid
Profits will come now as the battery technology is being licensed.

I am looking forward to see how and what Panos will do in Garage 56 with a all electric car in 2018.
Also freak me that Panos will be the last good sounding car at Le Mans, and now the first no sounding car.

Like comparing a v6 Mustang and an SRT Demon Charger. Well.....they're both 'pony cars'.

My 19yo, 4 banger Tacoma on 33s would probably outrun a Bolt. But that's not the point, is it?

My 25psi Jetta gets 32mpg if driven lightly. Will do 150mph and has for 6 years after rebuilding the engine.

Except my response was about uninteresting battery cars....... I watched LeMans and heard the 500hp motors on the wheels, also watched them burn up.

A dozen Teslas and no issues? That's interesting. Tesla's reliability issues are very well documented.

Fast or not I don't think electric will ever give me the visceral thrill that an ICE powered car gives me. There's too many intangibles involved.

You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd. Batteries belong in toys.

The Rimac Concept One (now famous for the Top Gear crash) is a beautiful electric car though.

It's just another 'gimmick'. The ICE will never be replaced in our lifetime...maybe two lifetimes.

I believe diesel and LNG are the future of ICE evolution.

The government is forcing the hand of manufacturers. Some cars are going to have to be electric to meet the ridiculous emissions restrictions. Meanwhile power plants go unchecked...

The ICE is still relevant and I agree that it will be for a long time. It would work in the future if they would develop hydrogen fuel cells. Apparently the power density just isn't there in hydrogen though.
