Oh man... I am sorry.
Lost mine in 2015. Just remember the good times had and he lives on in you more than you can imagine.

Related:
I was at a vw show at the San Diego swap meet yesterday and saw this

And me sitting in my dads circa 1987.

When I got home from the show I found the pic and racked my brain for hours on google images trying to figure out what it was called.
I knew it was similar to a meyers manx but that's not it.
Started looking again this morning and 2 seconds in I spotted it.
Meyers Tow'd
Ironically my dad's had a tow bar and he would tow it behond the 79 ford on camping trips. He literally towed the tow'd!

Had to sell it after his 3rd divorce.
And yes it would be cool to build a 1:10 version!

Sorry for all your losses. I dread when that time comes. My parents are getting older, and starting to have health problems.

Also...

This is exactly how I thought of it after I pulled myself together. I was not ready to accept it that I won't be seing him again ever and that troubled me a lot.
My dad was a very popular man who is remembered for his kindness, loving nature, selflessness, positivity and integrity. He was a firm believer in God (while I am an Athiest) and never skipped meditation and yoga. He was a physically fit man until three days before he passed. He would not have left at 68 as there has been a history of long life in our family where his grandmother whom I have met topping at 102 years. The reason for his death will always be remembered as a thorn in my mind and a medical challenge to be overcome by humanity.

Sorry for your loss and same goes for others too...I feel your pain.

Buddy, the pain and regret after a family members loss is something that no one should go through.

Spend as much time as possible with your parents and keep them happy. It will lift a lot of burden from your shoulders after they have gone.

A little bonfire party at my friends house on Saturday night.
That's him pushing the fire up around the back with a loader.

Lol. They are a bit bigger than a normal residential toilet. They are probably 70 years old.
