I'm waiting to free my mind from body. When I am successful, my "being" will start gathering resources for data acquisition of the universe through machine drones. The first encampment will be the moon, then beyond the heliosphere where superconducting becomes possible without active cooling. In a bodiless state, time will be of no consequence.

I've been developing theories on machine/ mind interfaces for five years and will fully devote myself to it when I retire. If tech progresses enough we will get "ai" from humans using machines for conscience awareness. I would like to be the first, to ensure humans aren't wiped out. Until then, this lump of soft tissue will suffice.

It does bring up good questions. If I clone my conscience as a worker drone, is it slavery? Can I split my mind among machines and still be cohesive in thought through quantum entanglement? How much input can a conscience handle if there is enough "brain" to hold the info?

All of this, so I can explore the universe.

Far out, man.

Right now I'd settle for strapping my corpse to the tip of a rocket and have it shot out into the universe.

Awesome achievement

The future generations of human beings are gonna be damn lucky. Expect deep space travel and isolated communities spread far into the universe.

I wish aging could be stopped.

Take them to NASA and shove their face into a space probe as you are saying "Science bitch!"

This thread was started June 7, 2010. Imagine how little in the grand scheme has changed, yet how much we think has.

Time is relative...imagine how long a day seems to a hummingbird with that super high metabolism.

This is one of my favorite YT science channels

And whats with the eliptical orbits that a few of them have?
AFAIK those are defunct satellites. It's very expensive to bring them back down, so they go on increasingly shitty orbits until they finally come crashing down or burn up or something to that effect.

Time and space are irrelevant for us.

"This seeming piece of science fiction -- called 'directed panspermia' -- would probably not be taken seriously by any scientist were it not for the fact that it was very seriously suggested by the Nobel Prize winner of DNA fame, Francis Crick," said Wainwright.

Granted Obama got a Nobel also...
