If you can hold out for more I'd recommend it. Pay less now and you'll just end up spending more later. I have a Canon A80 and absolutely LOVE IT. Its $350 but the level of detail in the pics is incredible. I have yet to see people post pics that have the same crispness in their imagery with the exception of the pics that have come out of the little moab crawls.

You are right though the extra $150- $200 on a camera can make a big difference down the road. And Cannon pretty much has today's market on inexpensive quality digi cameras. | |

The biggest difference bwtween the Canon A80 and the A75 is the LCD on the A75 is stationary and the A80 is a flip-out & twist LCD which is nice when you need to take a picture at a odd angle.
