Sober, Drink, or Drunk ?

In ny early twenties I drank a lot. Just like Kenny said, my wife to be was a bar tender. After we got married and had our son, I was out one night and found myself in the driveway at home and didn't know ow I got there...Scary! I haven't stopped drinking but slowed down A LOT. I don't go to the bar by myself any more and drink and I usually ride with someone if I plan on drinking 'cuz you nver know when you'll have too much fun.

I am 5 years and just shy of 4 months dry. I am 30+ pounds lighter, much less cranky, still married, and happy as hell to be free of "needing" to drink.

In my early to late 20's, maybe even early 30's I was a 6 to 12 pack a night drinker. once I decided to quit smoking in 2002 I stopped drinking in order to kick the habit. Now I drink a beer or two a week at most and sometimes go a month or more without one.

i'll be 26 in a couple weeks and for the most part i don't drink any more. ill have a beer or two now and then but nothing like i did a few yrs ago. ive only been really drunk once this year. back in college we were drunk all the time, but im over that now.

I was a drunk for a long time when I was in my 20's.

I have slowed down to where almost all my drinking is done socially but I occassionally drink around the house. Sometimes though, I fall down but it's not a main part of my life anymore.

The big change for me happened a couple years ago when I was driving home from a 4wd club meeting where I always would have 1 or 2 Jack and Cokes. I was by no means drunk but when I got caught in the sobriety check station I was worried. The line was really long so the police opened up the line and let a bunch of people drive out. I was one of them.
I figured that was my sign and my second chance. I don't have even one drink any more unless I know I won't be driving anywhere.

I drank and partied so much before I turned 21 that it doesn't mean as much anymore, but if I get around the right friends, it's on. My only rule is if you have more than one drink, you ain't driving anything.......

Never had a drop til I was 20 1/2 years old, and bet I've not had something to drink only about 100 days in the 15 years since. It might only be one beer, like last night, but for the last ~two years I've kept track of when I don't have a drop, and it's only been a total of 32 days. I'm a 165 pounds and I got a 15 pound beer gut.

When I was 20-25 I drank a lot, got to where I didnt have a "good night" unless I had no memory of what happened the night before. Been over a year since I have been drunk, last time I had a drink was around christmas, and it was 1 beer that i didnt finish. I get the urge to drink sometimes, but never actually can convince myself to. I also quit smoking last week, hopefully that can stick, though I have a long road for that ahead. It feels good.

Then you're doing it all wrong.

In highschool all my freinds drank, but I didn't. I took those opportunities to refine my bartending and practical joke skills.

My favorite drink ever: a Blackjack. Equal parts JD & chocolate milk stirred in a big glass. I never tried it myself, but it apparently sounded awesome to the drunks and everyone would try it at least once. Ok, usually no more than once...I can only assume they were pretty nasty.

I was also the designated driver, meaning when some of my freinds wanted to get drunk, they'd come pick me up and I'd drive them around all night. We were too young for bars so we'd usually end up out in the country somewhere. I always headed for the muddy locations so that the vehicle I was driving (never mine) got trashed inside and out. I'd also leave a tampon hanging from the rear view mirror the next day when I dropped the car off at the owners house, with the tank on "E".

I drink every night. When I get out with out the wife and kids I really binge Drink.

I just can't bring myself to quit drinking cause I'm not a quitter.
