I am taking my wife to Las Vegas in Sept and was wondering on some good places to eat where and which hotels we should look at staying at? We are going to Garth at the Wynn.

I've eaten at Panevino (East of LV Blvd along Sunset) quite a few times and really like the place. Great food and excellent views. http://www.panevinolasvegas.com/ The Maitre d' is an older Italian man who will likely give you a hug when you walk through the door.... I had the time of my life in vegas, and i'm not even a gambler. I stayed at plante hollywood (the big balloon). Treasure island has a killer "pirate" show...of course the bellagio water show never gets old (especially when youve been drinking)..We went to some aquarim at one of the hotels on the strip, the flamingo has a cool garden to walk through..mind you most of this stuff is free...O and did I mention the drinking is amazing? lol. Theres like beer vending machines all over!!. On the strip they have like 4 ft cups with straps to go over your shoulders lol, yea so anyway time of my life!.

The MGM Grand is my favorite place to stay. Nice, reasonable and close to the downtown action. Your gonna want to do some walking around in the evenings but be careful. Watch your six and keep things pick-pocket proof. "The Steakhouse" at Circus Circus is the finest steak place I have ever enjoyed and I've been to a bunch of them nationwide. I don't know about the last couple of years but they have repeatedly won best steakhouse in Vegas. It's classy, somewhat reasonable (considering) and they age their own Prime beef in glass enclosed lockers that line the entrance hallway. The grill is in the center of the restaurant (which isn't very big) so you can watch your steak cooking if you want. Also, they have an excellent wine selection and impeccable service. |

I've been to Vegas twice this year so far. I will say go eat at THE STEAK HOUSE located in Circus Circus. Definitely a must do if you like steak and lobster combo. Best steak I have ever eaten and then lobster was great also. This place is a top notch 5 star restaurant. The only steak house I could compare it to would be THE STOCKYARDS in Nashville, Tenn. I've never figured out why this restaurant is located in Circus Circus, it is way better than the hotel. |

They used to have an outstanding Sunday brunch buffet. If you go for that, definitely make a reservation. This is not your average Las Vegas buffet! | |
