edit: Having reread and maybe understanding you question better, pardon my poor comprehension skills. In theory it should work. My experience with multiple versions of MS office applications is increased chance of software corruption in the long term, meaning some .dll or other file type has a higher chance of something getting wonky over time. I'm using Office 2007 on Win 7 Professional here at work. At home I am running a trial version of 2010 until it expires on Win 7 Ultimate. Both work just fine. |

OK, I just noticed the second portion of your reply. So I guess a 2007 version of Outlook is a better bet...but harder to find. Thanks! Quote:

Just out of curiosity, if you have Office '07, why don't you have Outlook '07? Or are you just wanting to upgrade from Outlook '07 to '10?

im not familuar with that exact combination but... most new programs will open older files but for for the old programs to open the new files they need to be saved in the correct mannor. i use CS5 on my personal computers and my school is only using cs3. i have to save my files accordingly to be able to used them on both formats. this goes with most programs like 3dsmax 2008 to 2010. at the same time... i use ms word2003 on my laptop (im just used to the old layout) and while at school i use 2007. but i dont need to save my files in any specific way. for some reason i have had no issues transfering my 2007 files in to my 2003 programs... word specificly. hope this helps... sorry for the spelling. not on firefox this morning |

Ah, gotcha. This doesn't have a mail solution, but have you looked into openoffice.org? It's a full 'office' suite, but opensource. It's nearly identical to M$ office. I've used it for a long time now and have yet to really find anything it didn't have for normal use. Give it a try!! Last edited by HomerJ; 08-02-2010 at 04:10 PM. |

Doesn't answer your question but... I use this on my computer mainly to open files with extensions not supported by my current software, like Excel files. It comes in handy and is a freeby. An IT guy turned me onto it. http://www.openoffice.org/ |
