The other day at work, I was talking with one of our patients and he told me that he used to work at Nasa in their photo department. He sent me a few pictures that he had worked on over the years and I knew some folks here would appreciate them. I'll post the picture and a description that he sent me for each. 3-24-2011 - Endeavor last trip to pad  The first flight of Columbia in 1981: Launch  Into orbit (note the chase planes)  Captain John Young on Mid Deck   On Edwards Lake Bed  4-7-2010 - Discovery close to ISS  "Earthlights" - this shot is a composite of formerly classified DoD satellites.  Houston at night  General Bob Stewart - He has no tether or other attachment to the shuttle. He is a human satellite.  Mars Rover photoed by orbiting satellite  He sent me several other powerpoint files, but they are too large to upload. |

I'm glad you guys like them! I wish I could find a way to upload and make these ppt. presentations viewable....there is one of them prepping a shuttle for launch that is really cool! Lots of close up pictures... |

BTW, he also sent me a link to this. I believe it is something that his friend worked on: Absolutely mindblowing video shot from the Space Shuttle during launch Amazing HD video and sound of a shuttle launch. The camera is mounted to the booster and shows velocity of the booster and not the shuttle. |
