Default Ramblings

When I was growing up in the 70's and through my time in the Army into the 80's, the nickname I remember for a Toyota, was "Toy". Guys would remove the O-T-A from the back of their trucks to drive a TOY.

Somewhere along the years, into the 90's and beyond, and especially here on RCC, I see most calling them Yota's, and Taco's, and I understand where the shortened names come from. But, why not call them Coma's?

Annnnd that leads me to another rambling. I know this happened a few years back with NASCAR letting Toyota into the races, and I know they have a factory in the U.S., but ultimately they did that so they didn't have to pay import tariffs, and ultimately the profits go back to Japan. I mean seriously, NASCAR was started by a bunch of guys that made fast cars to haul moonshine. When was the last time your Grandaddy told you how he got away from the Revenuers in his souped up Toyota?

Which leads me to another rambling. Japan attacks the U.S. forces stationed in Hawaii, unprovoked. Drags us into WW2 in the Pacific. We end that war with dropping a couple of numbers on 2 of their cities, then we go back and give them millions of dollars to help them rebuild, WHY? Kiss my A**. You start a war, you deal with the consequences,

Rambling #4. IOTUS (Idiot of the United States), makes a Nuclear Arms deal with Iran. Now I hear today that Iran has been launching and dropping missiles near our ships in the Persian Gulf. Way to go DUMBA**

That's it for now. Feel free to add your own, and by all means comment on mine, because I'm sure there's going to be some pr*cks that will tell me I'm wrong or don't know what I'm talking about. It's Chit Chat. Let's argue

This original Pink Floyd, Atom Heart Mother record has too many scratches.

I'm almost 41. My nose constantly runs. Getting up hurts.

My neighbor is annoying as heck.

They wouldn't be comas, they'd be apostrophes.

Nascar is boring and all they care about is making money. Racing is secondary if it rates that high. Which brings me to wonder why all forms of racing governing bodies insist on limiting the vehicles. The nhra has ruled on tire rubber compounds for top fuel and funny car, those classes also only run on 1000' traps to keep their speeds down. Nascar uses restrictor plates on a couple tracks, limits rubber compounds and all the cars are the exact silhouette with different stickers to resemble their sponsor make.

Fun fact, after wwII US companies went over to Japan to help reestablish their industrial systems. GM was the company that helped toyota which is why many parts off of the old 215 straight 6 GM engine are interchangeable with the F and 2F toyota engine. The toyota axles all use a Hotchkis style drop out 3rd member axle design which GM held the rights to. The early 3 speed land cruisers could drop a GM V8 in easily due to the trans face pattern being the same as GM car transmissions. Hence it being a very popular swap.

Touching on the Japan thing, we helped them out after the war because after ww1 when we slammed Germany with reparations it came back to bite us in the ass when hitler came to power in a weakened germany and we did not need another world war when some dictator took control of a country in shambles.

Well i dident even get to serve in the army, which most did back in the mid 80ties.
Dunno if it was becuz my father is a well know commie, or cuz i was 6 foot 3 and only 55- 60 KG back then.

Was prety naive back then, i was like " well i have my own weapons, so if the Gernams attack again i will get a handfull or 2 of them before they get me"

Today i would be standing with a flag at the border that read welcome.

Been crisscrossing my country for years, and i cant find that damm reset button for it

I think this must be a geographical thing. I grew up in the 70's too, and through my time in the Marines in the 80's, I always called them Yotas. All my friends called them that too.

We were attacked by and subsequently decimated the Empire of Japan. We reconstructed a democratic Japan.

"We" didn't make a deal with Iran. The US, the UK, Russia, Germany, France, China, and the EU made a deal with Iran. Since Iran doesn't seem keen on honoring that deal, they'll soon be slapped right back to where they were before the agreement was made.

If we're doing misspellings, I've got a few (12) notes regarding the Forum Rules page.

One word is spelled "form" instead of "from"
and another spot "your" is used by mistake instead of "you're"

OMG quick!!! lock the doors and shut down the forum!

Just be careful if you decide to drink from the beer-pond, Rusty hasn't been fed yet.

You have to add [/quote] back to the end of his nonsensical rantings. It just got deleted in the crop/edit function.
