Well, for starters I have a 1990 Plymoth Acclaim(3.0L V6, 43k orig miles bought from a 97 year old woman for 800$ with no rust!) And a Yamaha WR400 with Baja Designs ON/OFF road kit on it :P my daily driver ^_- and yes it rips like crazy |
well i guess ill contribute to this thread also. Here is my DD. My first truck I got and the only vehicle I own I might add. It's an '82 Chevy C10 2WD. Its in really good condition for its age and it's going under some restoration processes here soon and a 350 V8 will replace its V6 Rebuild. Why would you replace Toy axles w/ Dana44s? Just change out the birfields with one of the strong aftermarket replacements and your are just as strong (maybe stronger) as the 44s you are swapping in. My DD is a 2005 Dodge 2500 quad cab CTD. I bought it during all this employee pricing stuff and got a nice deal. I bought the truck to tow my Jeep. Its an 87 Wrangler w/ Dana44s, t-18 tranny, Dana 20 t-case, 4.2 w/ weber carb, 4" Wagoneer springs, MORE shackles, and 36" swampers. |

Bringing this one back, again. :) My '05 Dodge 2500, 610 Cummins/auto. Put a Snugtop/Snuglid fiberglass tonneau cover on it, also have a billet grill and bumper insert ordered. I might get a bedrug liner for the 'trunk'. Then I have a Alpine CD and Alpine amplifier that will eventually end up in this truck. When the remaining 93,500 miles of warranty have expired, then I'll start with the engine mods. It's an '85, has over 190k on the body, the Chevy smallblock and 700R4 far less. Just installed a Dana 44 in the rear with a new Powerlock. It's sitting on 33 12.5's and around 5" of lift. Would be 6" if not for the extra weight of the bigger engine and trans. Running Rancho RS9000X shocks all the way around, and an RS5000 stabilizer. Currently having front and rear bumpers fabricated, along with a set of sliders. The pic doesn't really do the flex justice - if you notice the rear end hasn't even started to "stuff" yet. I'm installing a set of limiting straps this weekend, the extended brake lines are maxed out even in the poser shot. This is the biggest wheel and tire combo I'd recommend running with the stock front Dana 30. My daily driver is a VW Passat GLX 4Motion V6 wagon, silver. Looks like every other Passat GLX 4Motion V6 wagon out there, not point in posting pics. |
BTW, so I don't look like a liar, the Rancho stabilizer was installed a week after this pic was taken. |

In a perfect world it would be a v10, but the 5.4 is plenty for everything I use it for. My old truck, which I still own, is a '78 3/4 ton Suburban. 400ci small block, TH400, NP203 converted to part time, Dana 44 front, GM 14bolt rear around 44k original miles. 4" lift, RS5000 shocks, dual battery kit. I bought the truck as a plow truck, the mount comes off with six nuts. It's currently up for sale, but I'm not sure I really want to sell it. REALLY good truck. The body is starting to rust out on me though. -Jay |

The only mods I've got on that thing is a rear rock bumper and a custom-bent front bumper and if you look close, you can see my custom permanent disconnects on the sway bar courtesy of a high speed run through some bumps. But it is paid for! BTW, if anyone knows of a place where I can get a factory Dana 44 for the rear without having to sell a kidney, PM me! |
