FYI: Mitsubishi also made Jeeps. Notice the Mitsu logo to the left of "super off roader".

The name "Jeep" has been whored out by a lot of manufacturers. I thought this was interesting. The M715 Jeep M715 In 1965, Jeep developed the M715 1.25 ton army truck, a militarised version of the civilian J-series Jeep truck, which served extensively in Vietnam. It had heavier full floating axles and a foldable vertical flat windshield. Today it serves other countries, and is still being produced by Kia under license. |

Most people have no clue what a jeep is.. The name was adopted from the Ford GPW and GPA, which stood for general purpose. It was easier to say "jeep" than whatever the real name of the particular truck was (made by Bantam, Ford, and Willys in WWII). They only started using Jeep as a brand name when AMC and Chrysler began sissifying the "civilian jeep". The only real ones are the three brands listed plus Kaiser. My favorite was the Ford GPA in WWII. They built it as an amphibian, but it was too heavy to offroad well (got stuck on the banks) and too light (unstable) for water. The idea was eventually scrapped because the "Seeps" kept sinking. Built M715's are awesome trucks.. Too bad that one is such a poor example. |

It was owned by a local Arizona guy named Tye Jones. Plus, I'm just goofing around. Don't take any chit I dish out seriously.
