Nice piece. Before you start using it for concealed carry fire as many different brands of ammo you can to find which one it's most reliable with. Nothing could be worse than finding out when you need it most that it won't feed or jams or even that the gun itself is less than reliable. Steve |

I stopped by the gun shop today, gun didn't come in. I'll have to find something to do this weekend to take my mind of waiting til Monday afternoon. I did look at bullets today. They had like 12 different .40 caliber boxes. The gun shop owner schooled me on all of them. |

Didn't try on holsters either. Extra mags? Potentially. http://www.the-m-factor.com/html/home.html

I Have had my XD 9mm for about 6 years now and still love. Shoots great all the time never had a single problem. I bought a walther p22 at the same time and it doesnt like to eject all the time. When i bought my XD it came with the case, a holster, and 3 16 roung mmags. I could have bought the .40 lr at the time the .45 gap for the same price. But thought what the heck ammo is cheaper for the 9mm. I wish i would have bought the .40 now since it stays loade with hp in the bedroom waiting on some sorry sap to think about breaking in.

You can find some very good deals on .40 S&W ammo online. Some of the more popular SD .40 rounds are the Federal HST, Winchester Ranger T, Winchester PDX1 and Corbon DPX. There are also some half decent tests on particular .40 rounds on Youtube by tnoutdoors9 and andreleger2001. A couple online ammo dealers. http://www.sgammo.com/catalog/pistol-ammunition/40-cal http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/index....tol-ammo-40-sw

Got my XD40 out to Cali with me. Be shooting it up tomorrow. Stopped in at Mark Fore and Strike in Reno and picked up the Pierce grip extension for the 9 rd mag. Improves the grip 1000% percent. Thanks for the tip Corky! http://www.pearcegrip.com/springxd.htm Couple quick pictures. Wife is holding the piece in one picture. Got a Pelican case at Academy Sports last night in AR. Read the NRA Top Ten Safety rules. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. |

That can't be said enough! NEVER put your finger on the trigger unless you are shooting it!!! That is how guns "accidently" go off all the time! Loaded or unloaded, get in the habit of keeping your finger extended down the frame below the slide till its time to shoot

Learning to correct myself saying "clip" and to say "magazine". The guy at the gun shop today thanked me for correcting myself.
