Default First Pistol Purchase (XD40 Sub-compact)

I ordered a SPRINGFIELD XD .40 SUB-COMPACT a few days ago.

Should be in my hands tomorrow afternoon. Never owned a pistol. Came recommended by Rottenbelly and another friend that has an XD 40 with a 4" or 4.5" barrel.
I'll get some pictures up once I get it. Super stoked.

I'll be getting my concealed license asap too.

Anyone else shoot one? Tips, comments, suggestions?

I love my Springfield XD Sub-compact 9mm...

My favorite guns are SIG's, but out of my price range. My next purchase will be a SIG556 SWAT...

I've shot a few hundred round with one, ended up with a g23 though because it felt more comfortable.

Suggestion...night sights and try on multiple holsters before you pick one

Buying hp rounds are cheaper online also...

At work we shoot a Sig228.. I was looking at a Sig P250, but I've heard so many mixed reviews on it.

Lol, I have 3 - 556 Swats here NIB Joys of being a Sig direct dealer

I like the XD's pretty good for carry...I'm thinking of snaggin one of the XDM 3.8 40's we have here (got a big holiday super discount buy through Springfield) for my new carry gun.

Off topic gun pron...not an XD

Steer clear of the P250...they are having so much trouble that they have them discounted to the point that we can sell them under 400 bucks. While we do sell them if someone asks for one...we will let everyone know before hand the issues that customers are having with the 250. The Sig P2022 is WAY better and not much more.

As far as I'm concerned it'd be a $250.00 paper weight. Just too many stamped parts in that gun.

XD beats it out reliability wise with both sights tied behind it's back

Back on topic...we like the XD's so much that it's what we have the most inventory of on hand right now...something like 12 pistols currently. Accurate, reliable, affordable and includes holster, mags, loader...killer combo. Not to mention the mag deal they have going on now. 3 free mags plus a spare double mag pouch for any xd or xdm purchase through end of the year. http://www.the-m-factor.com/html/home.html

Make sure you get in on that if you are elligible Shane

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about that deal. I thought it was just for their online store purchase or something. I'll definitely turn my stuff in for that deal.

Love my XDm 40...

I do want to pick up a sub also though...the one I have is great for open carry like outdoors or something...but isn't near small enough to try and CC.

I love XD's

Have 3. XD9 compact, XD.40 sub compact, and a full size XD.45. Great firearm for the money. I CC the .40, and rarely oil it, still looks almost new.
