They were kinda harsh on the new Challenger. I just watched it on youtube.

Chrysler refused to loan them a car to test, so they went out and bought one.

I could see them testing the Challenger, Mustang, Camaro, SVT Focus, Cobalt SS/SC, SVT Raptor, Saleen S7, SSC Ultimate Aero, any of the new Corvette offerings, ect. There's plenty of American's to keep them busy.

I would imagine they're also trying to keep away from featuring cars that where recently reviewed in the UK series. Also keep in mind that TG doesn't have the best relationship with Chrysler after the Challenger incident.

Overall I liked the second episode more, the Evo film made it IMO.
i think the evo, and blind dirfting.

Top Gear only tests NEW vehicles, so you can forget about the long dead Cobalt SS, SVT Focus, Saleen S7. Though they might be used in the challenge type features (though I doubt there will be a supercar class, so S7 looks to be a dead option).

I'm sure the Fiesta ST and Focus ST when they finally hit the US will be included.

Hopefully GM doesn't forget about those of us who enjoy Turbo small market fun cars. Though that new Buick Regal GS looks like a winner, too bad they canceled the better version being 325hp and AWD based off the Opel Insignia OPC.

Fiat/Chrysler will have a Turbo version of the 500 available here eventually that would make the show. About the Chrysler thing...does it matter now? That was when Chrysler was themselves, now that Fiat controls them...things should change because Top Gear UK does have a good standing relationship with Fiat's line and other brands.

They made fun of the new corvette too, remember the whole double glazing and plastic thing , in the end though they said they LIKED the NEW CHALLENGER. I quote, "we came to see if the americans finally built one good car, and they haven't, they've built three."

Yup, I think they started running at El Mirage before we joined WW2, if not prior to WW2 in general.

Weird, all must have been slow or ancient records...since Rutledge said he couldn't break 175mph due to the surface traction.

It's still not a car set up for land speed, nor for traction on a dried lake bed. A simple airfield would have better better for the speed test and lets be honest for showing some tire smoking fun.

Yeah ... but it the show also isn't car and driver.

I really doubt anyone considering buying an Aston Martin is watching TopGear's review to see an analytical test in ideal conditions

They do in the UK (and globally). I guess us 'murcans can't handle testing a car on its ideal surface. Maybe this week they will test a Ferrari 458 racing on an ice rink.

I wish they'd be their own show and stop mimicking the UK show, this is why there is a correlation and why its worse. If they did a more American version using new ideas and methods, it would be a better show all around. When you try to make it like the UK show, expect people to compare it and at this point expect it to not compare.

Not at all...

Well this weeks show was better, not sure I loved an entire episode dedicated to the test (wish they would have ran that 2012 Mustang on the test track). All in all, it was the best episode yet imo and the hosts seemed to gel better.

I have no issue with how they are testing the cars or the fact that they copied the UK version (it will never be as good). but the host's suck!

Top Gear UK takes vehicles and turns them into boats...

Top Gear US takes vehicles and turns them into tanks...

Welcome to America, we like to destroy shit.

EDIT: America rules!
