Dad ran into that with the railroad back in the 70's, only the guys who smoked pot were even worse at driving than drunks. It apparently wasn't unusual for them to do this with some of the heavy equipment required to fix the tracks

Looks like it held up pretty damn good, far better than I expected one it. Glad to hear you and the woman in the Dakota were ok, but why was Mr 420 let loose? If the tow truck driver damn near got high opening the door, seems like that would be a really good indication of DUI.

Yeah the car held up very well but it is still a complete loss. Why the guy was cut loose I have no clue YET. I do know that he was given 7 tickets. Not only did the wrecker driver get a contact high, the guy couldn't prove he had insurance. Now I do not about you but I would be in jail till I was 50 if it was me in his shoes. The reason the back of the car didn't get more messed up is because he went under the back of my car.

A rail road is the last place drugs and alcohol needs to be.

I'll be honest, first thing that crossed my mind as I read your posts was that he was "Somebody's Kid" or had relative in a position to help him with the way it's turned out so far.

Exactly, now a lot of roads have trouble getting employees be cause of drugs and alcohol. They can start out with 100 applicants at 9am and by the time 5pm rolls around they have about 10 who actually stick around for and pass the drug tests, pass the back ground checks, and don't have an issue with the traveling and work that load might be placed on them.......and then of those they may end up with 5 that last more than a month or two before deciding it's too much work and or traveling.

I told Dad about what happened to you and he kinda reaffirmed what I had posted prior and added to it that the main problem was that the pot would screw with the smoker's depth perception, which is what would lead to them wrecking the equipment as well as the guy wrecking your Malibu.

Yeah, you are probably right, I must be a horrible person because I burn. At least I'm honest.

Here, fixed it for ya: " Your sponsors must be proud!"

If the guy that caused the accident was sober, what would you blame it on?

By the way, I'm not the one in " A state of confusion"

The difference is that those are "accidents".....the guy in the story above intentionally impaired is driving ability and put others at risk.

Do what you want to at home, but you shouldn't be putting others in danger because of your choices.....no matter what that choice is....

That's why they call is DWI (driving while intoxicated) not DWD (driving while drunk)

Covers the entire gambit. When I go out to dinner with my wife, if I have more than 1 beer, she drives home.

When I hit a little bit of the chronic I keep my ass on the couch, in my man cave, or out on the rocks until I have sobered up enough to drive.

It is just not worth risking the lives of others, or myself.
