Axial Honcho on Mythbusters!
 

I'm watching Mythbusters and I see them testing a myth using a Honcho!

They are testing the myth that you can flip a car with a super-power punch like Hellboy did.

I dont see any links online yet since its still airing.

It's a SCX-10 TR Dingo with a Pro-Line XJ body

They never adjusted their timing when they extended the leverage point of the 1:1 XJ. The weight still hit it over the front bumper and not further out in front of it.

its about time they upgrade to a hobby grade rc.

Out of all those guys, Jamie Hyneman is an RC nut. He's no dummy when it comes to RC's and robots.

Yea I have seen them use touring cars and helis/planes before but this is the first crawler they have used. It was neat at the very least...

Its actually Grant Imomara (spelling) that is the RC nut. He was the one to give them flying lessons when they wanted to test the plane taking off on a moving surface.

too bad the other half of the show was them rehashing the solar fire myth for the 4th time, and the whole presidential thing was just plain stupid:shock:

It's funny, the wife watched it with me and asked if he was an actor because "he looks fake like its body paint and acts like he's reading a card Its got to be an actor":lmao:

i always forget about the planes,

as far as them using touring cars, im pretty sure the only cars i have seen them use were cheap wal-mart style cars..but i could be wrong

Jamie flew the plane and Grant flew the heli before. Jamie has always been into RC's. Grant was on "Battle Bots" back in the day. He was big into them!

The Axial was cool tonight but stupid to use for that test IMO. The weight and the way the Axial works is totally different than a 1:1 in that situation. And it seems like they are grasping for stuff to test sometimes. The hammer fist thing isn't a myth? It was a stunt! But they have been testing stunts forever so I guess it's ok. Just a dumb one.

When they were doing the small scale test of a car driving up a truck ramp while moving, they used a Tamiya TT01 Silvia."thumbsup"

If anything that should be a testiment to the tuffness of that truck. Dropping 3x the weight of the truck on the front axle. "thumbsup"

Glad I TiVo'ed it!! Grant had always been a huge RC guy. It's always cool to see him RC things. I got the chance to meet that younger guy onetime. He was a idiot!

I saw the episode. They beat the piss of out that truck. I'm sure they broke stuff and fixed it.
