Recently I moved into a house in a "nice" part of town only to find out that my neighbor is a total ASSHOLE. He called me into the cops on the day we were moving in becaues my two dogs were barking. This was at about 3 in the afternoon so the cops just looked at him and said get a life. So now its a few months later and he has done anything he can to get them to bark, Im talking lighting fireworks, throwning rocks at the fence, ect. Every morning the kids walking to school tap the fence with sticks so they bark a few times and thats that. He calls the cops every week and they told me to keep them from barking blah blah blah. I went and printed the MONTANA STATE laws and the "city code" whatever bullshit that is. Anytime from six am to ten pm they can bark all they want. He didnt like that so he had the cop park next to my fence one morning to "hear" the disturbance. The dogs barked three times. Thats what they wrote on the "warning" ticket. So i went and talked to both city judges and they said just ignore him cause its perfectly legal for them to bark. So now the guy just sits on his damn back porch and yells to get them barking then he calls the cops and holds the phone up so they hear them. Its getting really old but they wont listen to my side cause he's friends with most of them. What can i do besides shooting him?

get a video recorder with sound and set it up so it gets footage of him antagonizing them to bark and all that so when he calls the cops, you can show them the footage of him causing it, that should shut him up but I would make the footage be like two or three days to show it's a on going thing. hope that works |

Sounds like its time to leave him a little present on his front steps. Youll need a paper bag, a lighter, and a big steaming pile of......... |

I am sure he is an asshole and pushing the issue, but how about keeping your dogs quiet? Legal or not people don't like listening to dogs bark. If my dogs out back and she barks once we bring her inside, it's just the respectful thing to do.

When he's out there yelling, spray his ass with your hose...and tell him to keep quiet.

First off, I would learn to type a sentence or paragraph. Secondly I would learn to control MY animals, the original source of the issue. I have this issue with many neighbors, they don't care because its outside and not in their house...selfish. Sometimes you have to act like the adult and respectful neighbor to end the issues that have arisen. |

what kind of dogs? big/small? whats your layout look like/ how big of an area? (how close you are to neighbors) do they stayout all day or do you keep them inside most of the time? how old is neighbor? old fart or young assh0le? an old fart just likes to stir it up cause theyr bored/lonely,a young assh0le does it to be mean..most of the time. get your neighbors name.. see if you can get the judge/judges to help by telling the pd to back off or ignore the complaint from the ass wipe..or hell call him directly and tell him if he heres of another complaint hell be wiping your dogs ass. (just examples haha) i would definatly get video..it would help your case immensely.. just dont let your neighbor see you setting it up. a few days worth of video of his harrasment should be enough to piss off anyone. make sure you have date record on. call the aspca and tell them you situation..see if they have any advice. or go walk over to the neighbors house and confornt him face to face.. "if you have a problem with my dogs, you call me not the police..they more important things to deal with." be an adult about it,when talking to him. hope it gets resolved. best of luck. |

| We keep them inside and quiet when we are home. Both my wife and i leave for work by seven and dont get back till five pm or later. I tried bark collars but they didnt work. They have a big yard and access to the garage with a warm bed. I wish i could keep them inside all the time but that ten hours can make one heck of a mess. When they do bark its a few times then back into the garage till someone bothers them again. Im not the only person this guy is calling in. there are dogs at every house around here and they all bark from time to time.

They stay out most days when we both work. The guy next door is mid fourtys, fired from his state job for "anger management problems". My wifes dad used to work with him. We talked to him a few times and now he just says to F off. I have some friends that are gonna help out. The cops came over talked with me a few times, they started talking to the other nieghbors. So far so good. | |

To many times I have been on my side of fence and the dog on the other barks at every fricken leaf that blows in the wind and the owners are off at work or inside with there face planted in the TV while its BARK BARK BARK outside. Nobody wants to be in there own yard and have a dog bark at them just for walking around in there own yard. Bark at ya later |

Kbrog your my hero. I wish i could say thats that case but its across the street. I dont mean to sound like my boys are perfect but they only bark when stuff hits the fence or the other fifty or so dogs around bark, just saying hello. If im in the yard with them they wont let out a peep. not even a wimper, they just sit next to me. Makes me miss living in the mountains out of town.

Definitely a camera with time stamp. That would've stopped this in its tracks. I have neighbors very close to me so I have had to train my dogs to be silent unless there is an intruder. Its just obedience training. They have classes in every city at places like PetCo or Petsmart. Like Jason said, I just did it to be courteous to my neighbors and not have any trouble with them. The camera may also tell and show you that your dogs are barking more than you think. Most pet owners have no idea what their pet is doing at home when left unattended. You might be suprised, but hopefully you just reaffirm yourself that your dogs are not causing a disturbance. Good luck with this and lets see some video! |
