Post Did Losi throw out the baby with the bath water????

Ok since Losi/Horizon seems to be abandoning the Losi crawling faithful. Do you think they threw out the baby with the bath water. I know I for one like my CC but don't want to be on the outside looking in for support and parts; not to mention new development

Not ready to jump ship just yet but since the captain and crew have been killed, I'm getting close

Since Losi/Horizon has yet to speak up concerning the crawling community I thought it was time to call them out

Post up Guys/Girls

Ummm...ok....yes, I have seen that info, but I still dont see where anything is mentioned that Losi is getting out of crawling....just that they changed up their staff a bit.

Good point, I just wonder with now having a solid product that they dropped all of their top crawling drivers. It kind of opens the door for another company to pull their following elsewhere. I may be thinking to far into this but maybe not.

Without hearing directly from the company, it is purely speculation....

And, just to point out, Jake never stated whether he was let go, or he quit....

Hello, I'm Jay Robinette. Team Driver for TLR (Team Losi Racing) I helped design and R&D the TLR line of crawlers. I've been with Team Losi for 18 years and I will answer any questions you might have about our products. PM me or post a thread and we can help everyone out. I can't be online 24/7 but will help when I can.

Our crawler line better not be going anywhere , I'm here to stay and enjoy this with the rest of you.

Thanks,

Jay

Yea mostly,

i doubt they'll drop the lcc and mrc, but i am doubtful they'll come out with any new crawlers, they don't have their top driver anymore to design us a new xr killing losi moa.

And i agree everyone in his thread is assuming he got fired, but chatting with him about the radio i built him it seems he may have quit. So it could have gone either way, but i can't see a company firing their product manager and their top driver.

Jay,
you dont look nearly old enough to be a grandfather!
Just out of curiosity regarding your 18 years, can you break that down?
Where did you start with Losi and what have you been doing in your 18 years with them.

I got picked up in 1993 attending the a Nationals race in Bakersfield California. This was my 2nd National Championship but my first with Team Losi.

1994, I took home two more big National titles in off-road.

1995-1999 I attended many races all accross the Country. Including the World Championships at the Famous Ranch Pit Shop.

2000, was another title after a long wait, lol. Up to Five National titles now.

2001-2002, was the touring car craze and I ran a few years racing taxi-cabs.

2003-2004 I mostly just did local off-road at the Club tracks here in Denver. Needed a break from the heavy Compitition

2005-to the present, I found myself looking for a change of intrest and Compitition. I found RCC and started to get excited all over again at all the cool builds and help people provided here. I was pretty much out of the big Sponsorship because Team Losi did not have anything in the Rock Crawling niche. But then they released the Rock Claw and history was set. We got together with the top Drivers and started to design our own crawler. Low and behold it was born and my new drug for R/C was Crawling.

As for my Crawling stats I placed 3rd in the 2.2 class at the World Championships in 2009, and took 1st in the 1.9 class. Then just this past year 2010 I backed up my win with another 1.9 National title.

So through the 18 years I have 6 National titles and 1 World Championship title!

I love R/C and the people who care to venture into our Hobby. You can really meet a lot of people from around the World in a short time.

Jay is deffinetially the man, a very cool and helpful guy. I feel fortunate to be team mates with him. If you've ever seen him drive there is no doubt he can get it done. I'm sure he could drive just about anything to a national title.

Jay, hope to see you soon at a comp near wherever.

No offense intended toward Jay or anybody else affiliated with Losi, but I can see why DRC post up on this. As normal consumers and forum members, all that most of us have seen is first Nabil leaving Losi, then Losi dropping the price of the LCC, and then finally word that Jake is no longer with the team.

Throughout, I never expected Jake or Nabil to say anything negative about the company (they both have too much class for that), so the lack of any word whatsoever from Losi has several of us wondering what is in store for crawling with Losi.

All too often, when a product reaches the end of it's life cycle, the price gets cut pretty drastically (much like the Losi Strike). With rumors floating around the tracks of Losi restructuring it's entire sponsorship program (I'm not sure what is or isn't true, just that I've heard rumors), I think many people were just conserned that Losi might bow out of competition crawling.

Personally, I hope not. Forget about the LCC and LNC, Losi provides the only readily available option for the 1.9 comp class.

Glad to see Jay posting up to let us know that Losi is still involved in crawling. I'm sure that will re-assure many who have started doubting.
