well im still dry...ish i just moved down to the missouri boot-heel 3 weeks ago. (30 miles south of Sikeston, in Portageville) all this flooding is going on all around me. if they didnt have every road except the highway shut down i would go take some pics for you all. when they blew the levee last night it shook my apartment. and you all ask why people still live in a high flood area and even though it is going to flood they never leave....its all about the land..(great for rice and cotton down here) plus if your family owns as much land as most people here then you dont just pack up and leave, because its worth more the farm it than to just sell....so you risk the flooding. |

Looks like they are going to blow the levee at St. Joesph, La and flood 6000 acres of planted farm land. They are also opening the Bonnet Carre Spillway Monday and possibly Old River flood control to keep New Orleans afloat.
