Default R/c Boat

Ok, I searched and didn't find exactly what im looking for. I am looking at getting a electric boat. I was wondering what suggestions you guys have, I saw the traxxas spartan but I have been reading they are having problems with overheating running lipos. What are your guys opinions, anyone got a spartan?

yup pretty impossible to beat the supervee 27 for forum popularity, parts support, mods, and just pure performance.

Boats are extremely finicky and the opinions will vary according to what your particular setup might be. Those who are overheating could very well be trying to run 6S full blast the entire time. There are quite a few ways to fix overheating, from adjusting the weight distribution, props, and battery setup.

X3, Supervee has been around for a bit and is the standard for many stock class races for various FE clubs. TONS of parts support and mods, probably more than any other FE out there. It does have a limit as far as what the hull can handle before it starts getting too squirrely, but it'll still be plenty fast.

One quick thing to note about the Spartan, is the hull. It's ABS, which isn't a bad thing for most people, but not the best choice for people that like to run hard and fast in rough water. It simply will not hold up as well as a fiberglass hull like the Supervee, not to mention fiberglass can normally be patched up pretty easily.
