Really cool that it produces all the moving parts right in place. Seems to produce a lot stronger 3D replicate as compared to the 3D printers using spools of plastic tubing. I can just imagine the cost of this set-up though!

around 70K for one, that gets ya started, consumables (powder and glue) are not cheep either.

Thats why the models that use the weed-eater string type material are more popular.

The weed-eater type you can build yourself...

Would be pretty cool to have! It would take a whole lot of prototyping to make it worthwhile though. I could get a pretty big CNC for that kind of money and turn out useable parts almost as fast.

I have a small 3d printer now on my desk at home that has a 8" x 8" x 8" print area. I plan on making quite a few fun detail parts along the way. My primary reason to buy the printer was to print scale models of homes as I am a home designer.
